Harry Kane

I have to be honest here and say that I do come on to read deluded Spurs fans putting across their blinkered views.

For example...

I'd say the definition of keeping things in proportion is to state that 120 is only 20% short of 150...

If I was selling something and said I wanted £150 and someone offered £120, I'd say we were close to a deal.

No?
If we're negotiating for a pair of gloves and you wanted £15 and I offered £12, I would say that's close. If it was a car for £15,000 and I offered 12k then that is also close. An apartment for £150k and I offer £120k, that's not as close ,£30k is a big cap to close. Now £150,000,000 and £120,000,000, that gap is wide, like a build a school wide or buy a Danny Ings or Raphael Varane. The gap is bigger than Spurs have very paid for all but 3 players. It's wider than the record signing for about 14 teams in the league. It's not the difference between £120 and £150.

Incredible job that Levy has done in the media, it really is.

"BUT HE NEVER SOLD MODRIC TO CHELSEA"

That was fucking 10 years ago. Christ.

Man does business deal 10 years ago. Still gets talked about like its the deal of a century.

In fact, a deal so good he got 30m for a key player for Spuds who then went on to win 4 CL and a Ballon d'Or. Madrid had Levys pants down, they did for Bale and did for Walker as well. Now all of a sudden its going to stop?

Firstly, not a Spurs fan. Secondly it doesn’t matter because it has no relevance to the point I’m making unless Levy originally asked for more for Walker and negotiated down. He asked for £45m then, he’s asking for a minimum £150m now.
So, what team do you support then?

£30m is about 6% of City's annual revenue. If you earn the average wage of £31k in the UK, it's the equivalent of being £1800 difference in the price of a car that you're buying.

Look up Walker to City.

What would you have preferred - Kyle Walker in your team for the past 5 years or the £45m + 5m in addons that you got? Which would have been more beneficial to Spurs?

The guy's a muppet. Net spend merchant who can't run a football club.

The scale of Levy's mismanagement will become apparent in the next few seasons. With Pochettino he had a manager and a team that could have won the league in 2016 or 2017 and become CL regulars for a decade.

At the critical moment, when everyone knew it was time to invest to push them over the edge and reap massive rewards, he refused to buy anyone for 18 months, despite selling players.

Now they will consider 8th a good season and are likely to be permanently overtaken by competent, ambitious owners at Leicester, Wolves and Aston Villa. Spursy will not mean finishing 5th or 6th, it will mean finishing 10th.

I believe this is why the Spurs fans have been so obnoxious and deluded about this transfer. They know that it's not just losing a 30 goal a season striker, this is the death knell of their brief entry into the top 4 and Champions League football and almost winning something.
