Harry Kane

If Kane wants to win something he's going to have to do it soon, Poch going back to spurs might be a good move for spurs but Kane might have to accept he's leaving it to chance staying there.

I reckon Kane is a nailed on to us, no matter what Poch decides to do.

Poch will probably be waiting for Real Madrid to call him. If they do, he'll go there. He'd be a fool to go back to Spurs, and Levy would be a fool to want him to come back - It would end up like Malcolm Allison's return to City (not that that would be a bad thing if it meant Spurs falling apart).

If Poch goes to Real, I'd put more money on him signing Gabriel Jesus than Harry Kane. Kane won't leave the PL and already knows where he wants to be next season - City.
Jesus' style is more suited to La Liga, and Real Madrid would be a perfect destination for him.

Its not about tixiki its guardiola who doesnt want sign Kane. Reason being guardiola doesnt like big characters superstars. People who can challenge him about line ups or anything for that matter. ( unless he thinks he is the reason why they are superstars ala messi ) Kane is not only the best striker in the league, he is also the England captain and already a superstar. Guardiola likes to be THE star in evry club hes managed. I remember him benching Muller in bayern ...Benchin a prime Zlatan and so on. I have been a member of this forum since 2010 but this is my first ever post. For whats worth I really hope city do sign Kane but I woudnt hold my breath.

Guardiola actually never benched Müller out of that reason - he just had his "usual" preference for central midfielders and therefore in some away matches of the knockout rounds only played with Müller or striker if enough real wingers were available. Else I think Müller was the most used field player in his 3 years at Bayern. I remember the first match of that against Arsenal when he explained that he kept Müller out of the match as he wanted to have more possession - and that Müller would be the first on the team sheet if he needs goals. And he tried out that idea throughout his Bayern time - and it never really worked as Bayern's attack did not produce in that matches and the defense often leaked goals. We often had to go full attack in the second home match and that worked apart from the matches against the Spanish lot.

Given our panache for being linked with a player for ages and then signing someone completely left field I fancy Martinez may be a shout ?

do people prefer martinez over lukaku because he's south american with a fancier name despite clearly being the way worse player?

The way Kane plays he's far better when he has pacy runners pushing on like a Son or Sterling. It wouldn't make sense selling Jesus and Sterling and then have players like Mahrez, Grealish on the wings just wanting the ball to feet

I’ve read some spurs fans saying the worry is Kane could buy himself out of the final 3 years of his contract. Due to his age and already having 2 years of said contract under his belt.

I don’t think it’s ever been done before, but I suppose it depends how much Kane wants to win trophies.

thats interesting and one of those Bosman things that’s been around for a while but not aware it being used. Kane must be on about £200k a week at Spuds so guess he could buy out his contract for about thirty million quid then get that back from City plus the same again as a signing on fee. Then pick up Aguero’s place on the wage bill costing us about £60m instead of the quoted £150m. Spuds won’t sell him to Chelsea and Kane isn’t daft enough to join the trophy dodgers with rats in the kitchen and a leaky roof.

It’s the Webster ruling, was a verdict given down by CAS. Not many instances of it happening since the initial verdict.

I think there is a bit of an unwritten law between players and clubs that this could throw football as we know it into chaos. As such it hasn't really taken off in any significant way.

Maybe so, but if Levy acts like a khunt then the player has always got this up his sleeve

Maybe thats why he was quoted recently as saying "Spurs can't stop him leaving"

Levy has been awfully quiet about this potential transfer, was expecting spurs to be leaking way more stuff out about their demands etc. Maybe that's still to come.
