We should call levy’s bluff and agree the £150m but you can only have £75m now and remaining £75m next season. Watch him squirm outta that 1. ;)
Tbf with Tottenham, I don't really know how they do things on the buying front. It's possible that we're actually in some sort of chain, and Tottenham are having the same issues we are but with clubs they're buying from, and those clubs... etc.A good line of thinking! You’re right with the wedding story, reaction was a bit telling.
if it’s the case, you do have to wonder what if Tottenham have no luck with transfers for some reason? Although I bet levy isn’t too bothered about potentially raking in £150mil and then not having to reinvest it!
All makes sense when it’s lain out like that
I’m in the same boat re confidence, but no idea how it’ll play out with Levy, just glad we’re back winning.Tbf with Tottenham, I don't really know how they do things on the buying front. I'm very aware btw that I'm in line to get a lot of egg on my face if this falls through, as I've had more confidence than most. But City's behaviour has been just too cocksure for me to assume that given how well they do everything NOW is the time they get too far ahead of themselves and screw up. I think the Grealish deal may have panned out the exact same way as this Kane deal looks to be doing had there been no release clause.
It would be such a catastrophic failure of both strategy and execution on the part of several very senior people since Sergio’s departure was announced that I can’t believe we won’t go the extra mile if necessaryTbf with Tottenham, I don't really know how they do things on the buying front. Fwiw, Levy ALWAYS sells in the end.I’m in the same boat re confidence, but no idea how it’ll play out with Levy, just glad we’re back winning.
I hope it is, still a big risk but a more manageable one. If that's not enough for Levy, we should walk away, with an official statement indicating Levy is one greedy bastard. If Simon Mullock is talking then it's come from the club.
Sounds to me like £120m is our limit.
Last day or there about from memory.Fwiw, Levy ALWAYS sells in the end.
The only time he didn't was Modric, but that was SPECIFICALLY because Chelsea wanted him. But look at every other big player that's pushed for a move. Berbatov, Modric (the non-Chelsea time), Bale, Walker, Trippier, Eriksen... None of them were held hostage past the first window.
Something to note, Berbatov, Modric, Bale, and Eriksen were all sold extremely late in the window. With significant inbounds all timed around their departures.
I’ll keep the faith till the window closes and then I’ll begin to suspect the deal isn’t happening!Tbf with Tottenham, I don't really know how they do things on the buying front.
