If Kane doesn't come, I personally think it'll be a late one, then there has to be a serious conversation at the highest level about our strategy on transfers. We knew Kun was going in March, we knew we didn't have a dependable goalscorer and we knew we had the budget for a world class talent. Although transfers of this calibre are complicated, Lukaku managed to get moved pretty rapidly while we're still tip toeing around deciding if the price is right when really this could and should have been sorted weeks, if not months, ago.
We'll win plenty of games this season without a striker but the chances of winning as many trophies as possible will take a massive hit if we don't have a plan other than fitting different players into a false 9. I'll hold my breath for a positive solution but the whole situation hasn't looked great for us has it?
