The look says it all. Lol

He's in the "It's quiet" thread. Tolmie I mean :)Unfortunately the silence from @BillyShears and @tolmie's hairdoo on this speaks volumes imo.

LolGood question and difficult to answer unfortunately. I'm not undermining the achievements of our club, I'm simply pointing out that our strategy for replacing key figures has not been great. How long did we all discuss getting a replacement in for Vinny, even when he was still here and playing, for us to let him leave and then try and pick someone that suited us in Dias? We were rather fortunate that Phil was as effective as he was or else we would have been left in the cold when Silva left. We got told nearly 6 months ago that Aguero was leaving, yet here we are 10 days away from the window shutting and it not even looking close. I expect Fern to leave in the summer, who do we have that's a quick out and out DM?
I understand it looks like I hate our transfer dealings but I can assure you I really don't, we always get good players - what is fairly evident is that we are poor when it comes to replacing our key players and doing so in plenty of time. We've gone from having 4 strikers in Aguero, Tevez, Dzeko and Balotelli to having 1 striker who actually looks better when he's not playing as a striker - that might not be problematic in your eyes but I genuinely think its poor planning.
He's not exacly jesus when it comes to pressing he usually lets the midfield do that. So with of the ball work him and ronaldo would be very similar imo. What do you mean? He already does
That is false, anyone who claims Kane doesn't work hard and drops deep has simply not seen him play. He makes up for a lot with his involvement across the pitch to make up for lack of speed. Even more so last season, hence getting the playmaker award as well.Yeah but kane isn't particularly mobile and let's the midfield do most of the work. I'd say Ronaldo would be fitter than Kane even at 36. He keeps himself in decent shape and in our team he wouldn't need to play every minute.
If Kane isn't happening then would we just not do a deal like this ?
the public statement wasn't a backtrack, you're just imagining scenarios in your head. it's been well documented that the whole training shit was a misunderstanding between him and spurs, who apparently told him he can stay for another week but then told the media he was missing training to make him an enemy for the fans.
His image for the fans is very important to him, so he hired a PR firm to help him repair relationships with them, but he still wants out. Just because he didn't stop showing up to training, which is a disrespectful act in its own, doesn't mean that he fucking backtracked.
Waspish, I understand what you're saying and if you have a look at my history - I'm as optimistic and positive about our club win or lose. However, there's no getting in the way that we shouldn't be chasing after a single target and complaining that we're not getting him 6 months after we knew our greatest striker was off - we'll never know what's gone on and I really do hope we get Kane but what's our Plan B if it doesn't go ahead?Calling the club out when we don’t know really what’s going on regarding Kane after how we have been run and trophies we win plus we keep winning it something I won’t do! Some fans think we can just go for a player and get him! Well it ain’t the easy! Time still to get Kane and I still believe we will..
i dont think 120 will be enough levy cant be negotiated with it seems obvious he wants 150Yeah it’s in the bag once levy blinks and thinks of the 120m he will lose out on..
Dropping deep isnt working hard we know he can do that. None of the options on the market are known for pressing imo. That is false, anyone who claims Kane doesn't work hard and drops deep has simply not seen him play. He makes up for a lot with his involvement across the pitch to make up for lack of speed. Even more so last season, hence getting the playmaker award as well.
Ronaldo is 36, age does factor in. It's pointless going for him.
