All this was common knowledge way before we made Kane our number one target. Why didn't we develop a back up plan?I just have a gut feeling City will walk away. I suspect the main issue will be the way Levy does all his negotiations via briefing his pals in the media. City hate this sort of thing. It's what caused all the bad blood in the UEFA/CAS case. Lots of negotiations end up being more about the personalities involved than the money.
Levy will be hailed as a hero by the press for "standing up to oil-money City." He will get pats on the back next time he meets his pals at the PL meeting but meanwhile damage will have been caused in the Spurs dressing room which will undermine the team.
