Really poor to say this has rumbled on for almost 2 months.
I don’t think the board or management could be blamed for failing to get him. Ultimately, he’s under contract at another club who can decide whether and at what price to sell. If that report is to be believed, it’s their loss. He’s simply not worth over £120m.
City should have got the message earlier though. We wanted to be “aggressive” this window. I feel like there’s an aspect of moving on quickly and being ruthless that’s missing. That we wanted him was the worst kept secret. We didn’t move on to other targets (at least publicly) and ended up looking a bit desperate

Wonder if we are seeing a bit of ‘post Pep’ playing out here. Pep wants Kane as he wants to have another go at the champions league and is only interested in his last two years. Beyond two years is not his problem, so age and cost not in his thinking. The board supporting Pep are willing to go to a certain amount to get him, but have their own ceiling. If Pep is off in two years which is looking likely then the board would prefer a younger ‘project’ that will serve us ‘post pep’ and a new manager. Pep also mentioned about the future in one of his statements. Just think the board are looking longer term now with purchases.
Was so smug on the videos with twosips as well, mocking any journalists that went against his narrative. There's no such thing as ITK's there just chancers.
