Doesn’t matter how much Mbappe costs if he doesn’t want to come.

If we can’t get Haaland then Kane would be the next logical choice providing we could lower the fee.

Pretty stupid from Levy to be honest. Unless he doesn't like making money.
There was this Dele Alli demand a few years back but his stubborn attitude made sure no one will touch Spurs with a 10 feet pole. Look what happened to Danny Rose. He and Walker were one of the best in their position.
A third league title for Walker and Rose is nowhere.
Two great assets in Son and Kane and he will make them rot too.
They are the least valuable club among the top 6 in terms of brand value, history, fanbase and trophies. They have to follow the Dortmund model to buy low and Sell high but some delusion of asking ridiculous amount is just moronic.
Also no one is paying more than 80m in the market for Kane.
 
I do think Kane would be a class signing for City and would work well in our system. His link up play with Son shows how good at creating chances he is and he can finish from pretty much anywhere. Injuries are a concern but that price tag is ludicrous and it's pointless paying that for him if there's any chance we could get Haaland who is younger and would surely cost less.

We'd get Mbappe or Haaland for that money. One's a free agent in 2022 and the other has a release clause kicking in.

How many did Mario end up missing? I know he didn’t for us but he did miss after he left. Tevez was a hit and hope man. Kane and Shearer both proper penalty takers. Yaya was immense though!

Yeah Tevez hit it and the keeper hoped he didn't get hit by it.
 
He would be absolutely perfect for us if we look at the transfer purely in the terms of his fit as a player. More of a natural fit (right now at least) than Haaland or any of our other reported targets.

Natural goalscorer with a proven record, excellent hold up play, very good creator/passer of the ball, great in the air, physical, takes a good penalty, a leader and homegrown to boot. He's the complete package.

It's not going to happen though due to his age, injuries and cost - I imagine the club are loath to deal with Levy again after his antics with Walker and we're talking about an asset worth triple the price in this instance.

Someone like Haaland ticks most of the boxes at the age of 20, will likely be a fair bit cheaper (around £100m) and, most importantly, offers the club longevity - whilst Kane would offer an immediate impact, he may only be a £150m level player for 2-3 seasons. Haaland could quite conceivably be one for the next 10+.
