Harry Kane

I think most peoples reasons are his age combined with his injury record combined with potential fee. If the numtpy didn’t sign that long contract it would be a no brainer.

His injury history was a concern, his age less so for me. Strikers often peak over the 28-32 period.

The fee was madness but he would have been class for us. His ability to drop in and pick a pass and his finishing ability...he would create and score so many for us.

Sadly it looks like we will have to settle for some youngster from Argentina and that Norwegian fella instead. And Kane will have to settle for a trophyless career. Although he might still win the world cup.

His finishing is staggeringly good. Add the fact he’s brilliant at everything else a striker needs to be and more. It’s amazing that some wouldn’t take him at City.
I still wouldn't.
If we'd signed him we probably wouldn't be top of the league if we'd have had to rely on him at the beginning of the season when he couldn't hit a barn door.
He is a great goalscorer, but he does have games where he goes missing and he definitely isn't a big game player.
If not Haaland then not him.

He overtook Henry for PL goals tonight and is only 1 behind Lampard.

Yeah hit double digits tonight and it's only March.

He’s getting on a bit tho isn’t he.

The money Levy would want for a 30 year old doesn’t bear thinking about.

For me, there are just too many negatives to be excited about signing him. Hi stransfer fee would be way over the top, we could get Haaland, and cover his first years salary on what Kane would cost. He is certainly towards the end of his career, and has a history of injuries.

Add to the above, I would factor in his performances this season, when his head has been off. He would be under twice as much pressure with City, we have copped enough in the media about 100 mill Grealish, imagine how Kane's head would be if he couldn't score for us in the first few games? Much like Grealish and the rest of our squad, he wouldn't be playing every game unlike at Spurs, so his head could have been shot for a lot longer.

I understand he may well have scored a bucket load for us, but he could easily have gone the other way, as most struggle in their first season with City.

It seems to me the transfer fee is the ONLY major point making this deal a non-starter. Let's face it, if Kane were out of contract and available on a free, most of us would jump at the chance to sign him right?
All the other points will be the same for anyone coming in. As for a "history of injuries' compared to most active premier League players and Haaland too, that is simply not true.
