Just another view on +£100m transfers. We played 61 of a possible 62 games last season in all competitions we entered. If we had won the 62nd game, FA cup final and the Champions Greed final how much more money would we have earned and does that justify spending £200m plus on two or 3 players. I know the Champions Greed carries worldwide kudos but I am not sure the business plan at City will justify spending that amount on players. Time will tell and I hope we get someone who can score from the opportunities we create and we smash the existing goals for record. Could be exciting or a damp squid but heres hoping.

This is precisely the worst thing about this transfer for me. Haaland is a future balon dor winner, and we'd be leaving a free run at him for a direct rival, in favour of someone who could be the next Alexis Sanchez.

Makes me feel ill. If Haaland moves elsewhere, fair enough. Lukaku or Kane are decent stand ins, but Haaland has to be priority. We've lost our marbles if he isn't.

Hardly a free run if only we drop out, there'll still be at least 7 teams interested.

His performance in the Euros - might, generously be described as "workman" - I'd describe his performance as "pedestrian" - and I wouldn't argue much against "underwhelming."

And for me - that's what Kane is likely to be - underwhelming.

If we cannot sign Haaland - I hope very much that we don't end up signing Kane.

Yes and he was never quick to start with! I don’t even know what my argument is here. I basically agree with you but also think he’d be brilliant for us. Based on his England form(not goals) he looks like a modern day Fowler by the time we signed him.

Hea ready to fall of a cliff. Lost a yard of pace and he wasn’t quick to begin with. Owen and Rooney were almost done once they hit 30. If we act in haste, we will repent at leisure, because no one will buy him off us.

That was last season, things change, next season will be far harder, far more competition.

Haaland is a gamble as well, but I feel like he

1) is in great form so he's carrying all that confidence to help him hit the ground running.

2) He is so young that he has more time to come good. If for whatever reason he took 18 months to get used to Pep and the team before he hit his absolute best, or he got a big injury he would be 22. If Kane took time to get going he would be pushing 30.

Haaland is a gamble, all transfers are, but if Haaland failed with us, you could still sell him on a recoup a lot of cash, if Kane arrives and fails, you take almost a 100% hit on his fee.
