Harry Kane

No way I disagree. People were foaming at the mouth when we did not land Koulibaly. He was the best CB on the planet. Go and read his thread.
I don’t dispute people wanted him but Kane is a guarantee koulibaly was a gamble irrespective of what posters felt last year

Pep obviously likes Haaland as a player & his age. City have a history of not being bent over & rinsed, mostly because of UEFA/G14 breathing down our necks with FFP.

I can see City sounding out the possibility of Haaland for summer 2022 for £65m, & getting through next season with Jesus, Delap & using false 9's. I could see us going for Kane, but not at the money Levy would want for a player Kane's age.

As someone said previously, Kane leaving has got ManUre all over it. This would be a typical marquee signing for them, with no consideration of his age or possible resale value. As we've seen, this isn't the City way.

Also I can't see Kane making it known he wants to leave Spurs & have his future sorted before the Euros, unless discussions have already been had with a potential buyer, with just a fee to be agreed with Spurs. £105m plus Lingard in this climate might just do it.

I agree with the majority but resale value? We keep players through their peak and wave them off afterwards for free.

Toure
Kompany
Aguero
Silva
Zaba

Probably, though that would make them stronger up front
It also would weaken them cos that’s £100m+ they need to spend elsewhere.
Not bothered about them mate, just don’t want us to go there, what’s the point of our academy if we did go there, may as well knock it down.

Not getting excited for this one, spending upwards of £150m on a near-28 year old with a dodgy injury history is the absolute antithesis of everything about how Txiki, Khaldoon and Soriano run their club.

Who was/is better at 27, Aguero or Kane? Why will Kane be better than a prime Aguero? in a Pep team. Will someone enlighten me as this is what really matters as to whether Kane to City will be a success. The same question should be asked of Haarland

It is a couple of things putting people off. One is his age, which in July will be twenty eight. When you add his dodgy ankles to that, pus the fact Spurs will want 100+ million it's a big gamble.
I get that he isn’t in his early 20s but he isn’t on his last legs either. Nobody was disappointed that we gave KDB a new contract even though he is 2 years older than Kane.

According to the Prem League site, Kane has only missed something like 35 games since 14/15. He plays far more games than many of our players.

I don’t believe its a gamble. He will score goals. If the club decided that they didn’t want to spend £100m on a player with no resale value, fair enough but we don’t sell our best players anyway. Yaya, Vinny, Merlin and now Aguero all left/leaving for nothing at the end of their successful time at the club and nobody batted an eyelid. If Kane comes here for 5 or 6 years, scores a shitload and we win trophies galore, nobody will give a toss if he goes for nothing at the end of it all.

So what's the latest, I'm only through the door and too tired/lazy.

He's told Spurs to do one?

Sky Sports did a big exclusive story that he's reiterated his desire to leave.

No one was that bothered until Spurs released a statement saying all the players should be focused 100% on finishing the season.
