Harry Kane

The only ones it ‘could’ upset is Kev and Raz, since they earn miles more than everyone else.
Players aren’t overly upset that them 2 earn more than everyone else, it’s usually the case at most clubs that there’s a one or two top earners.
Pep also wanted Maguire.
Pep wants a quick crack at the CL, hence Kane (probably), but Haaland would offer more over a longer period and after Pep’s gone.
What makes you imply Pep will be gone soon? Bet Tuchel will be long gone before Pep.
Posters on here need to get out of this mindset that Pep is off asap. These comments get really tedious after a while.

Rodney Marsh, Trevor Francis, Carlos Tevez would be contenders
I still think Robinho has been our highest profile signing to date just because of the whole circus around it and how good he was at the time compared to where we were as a club at the time.
I'm only talking my lifetime though so earlier examples don't figure into my thinking.

Most City fans couldn’t have picked Robinho out in an ID parade though, let alone the average man or woman in the street. Everyone in the country knew who Marsh, Francis and Tevez were.
In terms of media fuss, Steve Daley was I think a world record fee and national headline news.
Bringing Denis Law back to Manchester was another very high profile one at the time…

True enough. Like I said though, in my lifetime I can't remember a fuss or the media attention like it was for the Robinho signing.

If you think about it the fact that some people find Kane boring and dull would make him a classic City signing. We rarely buy a player who is a 'character' two that come to mind are Mario and Mendy maybe a few others but on the whole we tend to buy players like Kane who cause no drama.

He is boring as a footballer, not as a person. Well maybe might be that too, but I don't care about that.

Much prefer that than the circus
Ok, if it is yours to prefer.

If that was one of our players, I'd be raging.

What circus? his agent being seen talking to a club? the exact same issue for me, the timing. Not a fan of either public display, but let's not pretend they aren3as bad as each other, never mind ignoring one altogether.

2 years left on his contract?
Might sign another, might not.
He’s already been here much longer than anyone expected.
