I think the problem most people have is that we are giving up on Haaland but going for Kane, for what on paper seems like the same amount. It seems like the deal isn't as good, but people need to remember that we did the same thing with Walker and that was basically because we wanted someone closer to being the finished article but still able to take tactics on board. There's no doubt in my mind that Haaland could play our way, and also that he has the potential for a higher ceiling. But Kane scores goals, scores pens, has shown that he can play a certain way under Poch, the deal just works.

Again though, that's one player who, for all intents and purposes, the club may know doesn't even want to play for us. It just seems strange to me to have such a strong opinion about how our club is failing in this instance when being in the dark about crucial information that our club may have.

This has obviously caught both City and spurs on the hop (sun story) and it's now a case of damage limitation. So now comes the denials from both camps and on we go with respected and not so respected journalists getting the opportunity to create more click bait content and send both sets of supporters in a tizz whilst behind the scenes nothing has really changed. Negotiations will still be ongoing with Levy knowing he will eventually sell but at a price that keeps his reputation as a shrewd operator in tact and we will be happy to secure one of the best in the business without ever talking about what we paid.
It's all part of the act in the biggest show on earth.
The signing itself is the best we could hope for out of who is available on the world scene right now and whilst the price will be high it'll be nowhere near the 160m being mooted. In a perfect world (mine anyway) it'd be Haaland signing on the dotted line but make no mistake, Kane stays injury free and he will break most records available to him before he hangs up his boots.
