Oh this again. Half only want kane because they think Haaland is unavailable so it still balances itself out as more or less 50-50.

Valid take on it in all fairness.

But Kun would still be Kun (and thus worth it in the hypothetical) , and Kane would still be Kane. The whole point he was making was it is the player not the stats he was looking at.

Also, he's 28 tomorrow is he not.

So who do the other half want if not Haaland.It isn’t divided on Kane it’s divided between Kane and Haaland.

I agreed that spending 130m on a 27 year old Kun would be great, as the poster suggested. But not on a 28 year old Kane. Go ahead and disagree, but stop being such a fud about it.

He's finished, never got off the bench in the Copa America, the Everton game was like a pre season knock about.

Kun's knee is broken, sadly he will never return to any sort of top level performances, even Barca admit that.
 
I expect absolute no movement on this deal before our game with Spurs on the 15th. thats nearly 3 more weeks.

I mean if its up to Txiki this wont be done before 31st of August. And if we had an extra month to sign players like we had due to covid last summer than it would be 30th of September.
 
I bet if Haaland wasn’t around then the poll would be a lot more one sided in favour of Kane joining.

Like it or not, the guy is clinical and one of the best strikers in the world. Add to that his all round game then it’s a no brainer. Anybody saying otherwise either just doesn’t like him because he can be snide or is obsessed with Haaland and stumping up £10m to an agent.

I can only assume a few factors into peoples rationale

  1. He plays for spurs, and spurs are hated by many a blue for the fact they're cunts
  2. His generally shithousery on the pitch, the croping diving twat.
  3. Some have got fixated with the idea we were getting haaland and cannot accept any other option
  4. The appparent misconception he is always injured and unavailable for games
  5. His age, city don't buy players over 25 etc

All theses reason are a nonsense:
I fucking detest spurs and while he wears their shirt he is a diving cropping cockerney ****, bit I want him here if we can get him and all that will not matter to me.
The age thing is bollocks we have bought 28 years olds in this recent period.
His injury recod isn't as bad as made out, and even so he still manages to bag shitloads of goals.
And finally the because I want Haaland lot, well you don't always get what you want and be grateful we have the ability to buy the best Striker in the premier league at present and hope Haaland may arrive next year.


I will be happy to see Kane arrive.

You are overstating Aguero’s current level. The time was right for him to go, with or without a replacement being boxed off. Aguero only played about 700 minutes in the whole of last season, out of around 5.5k mins in total. That is someone that you can take out of the squad with a fairly minimal impact. We played Jesus or a false 9 before we played Sergio. It would have been no different this season if he were still here.

6. We never pay that much for a player, despite the same posters thinking we should pay whatever it takes for Haaland.

One rumour i've seen is that the reason the paperboy has been given a 4 year contract is because of his affiliation with Haaland, and that he could move there next season. 99.9% bollocks, but this place will implode if that happens.

Meanwhile i'll be playing replays of Kane getting the winner from a Grealish free kick in the CL final, then a repeat of each of his 30 goals from the title win. And I can bet the haters will still hate him.

Thing is. I think I’d prefer Haaland purely because of longevity but that doesn’t mean Kane is a shit option - a lot of people on here can’t seem to make that distinction and think it’s one side or the other.

I wish I could like this post twice. Always weird when you see people become MORE negative and MORE entrenched the more obvious it becomes that we're going to sign a player. Why start out with such hostility towards someone who is going to be wearing a blue shirt? Each to their own I guess.

Of course, I think if you have the choice of the two you pick Haaland, but there is no guarantee of longevity as he is likely to leave after a few years, and there is no guarantee of him doing it in the PL within that time. Kane is a guaranteed goal machine and will hit the ground running. And of course if reports are true, he wants us whereas there are no reports that Haaland wants to come here.
 
I don't get the - he won't get transferred until our match with Spurs.
WTF would anyone care IF he has made up his mind and Levy has sanctioned his sale.

Once he is City player, he can play any match we want. Unless Levy wants to keep his image tight and give us a good 10 mil discount on the transfer price for him to not play in the first PL match.
