Harry Kane

If not Kane and you think Haaland unlikely, negotiate deals for which top striker?
I didn't rule anyone out, both will be "cheaper" next year - but also things change, players improve or arrive on the scene, players decide they want to leave clubs, impossible to predict who will be available next year.

I appreciate the ambition this club has to keep producing fantastic seasons, but having the odd off one for the greater good is fine in my book.

Somebody posted here Felix + cash ~ Bernardo exchange. Thats a nice option. Felix has lot of potential and isn't used by atleti enough. Maybe pep can help him maximize his full potential. We even have a good relation with jorge mendes
You know what, at this stage I’d take that. Shifts out a player who wants to go and gets a top young player in return.

The absolute state of some flappers on here. Jesus Christ.

I'm uneasy in my mind about us failing to do any deal for a striker. That remains to be seen. Levy is known for his brinkmanship.
But if there's one man in the world who I would trust to find a way of getting round the problem, it's Pep Guardiola. He's just guided us to three titles in four years. Unprecedented in the history of the club. In Pep I trust.

Anyone noticed with transfers that when it goes quiet there is always one source that tries their luck and it's gets a load of commotion going. The reality is it'll reach fever pitch Wednesday (before Europa ties)... then nothing will happen, then probably peak again Sunday, then die down, then the last week of transfer window we'll pay £400m. *sigh* haha

Maybe we're the ones who are waiting to shift one of Bernardo, Laporte etc, before we can actually do the Kane deal. Doesn't seem like there's a queue forming for either

I agree. If we don't have Kane, we have £130m that we can invest in the team in the future.

I think City can challenge for the title again without Kane if Foden and de Bruyne stay fit and we can invest in the next star.

That is what happened when we pulled out of the Maguire deal. It wasn't the end of the City world.

Do Spurs need a left back and centre half? How about 100m plus Ake and Mendy? That would free up wages to cover Kane. Pretty sure Spurs would be up for that, it’s a big win win deal.
You think that Spurs would want Mendy after that game on Sunday? lol

100m and Ake is a good deal for all.

No it won't, he will travel, might even play. Be surprised if he didn't.
Sure I saw something on Sky Sports News that was clear that even if he played in the European match this week - at this stage - he could still be registered for City in the CL

It’s Daniel Levy doing what he does best, which is being a bell end. He always ends up selling, but he typically gets the deal he wants.

He will always add 20% on to the price he wants, knowing he will be negotiated down on the upfront, and have the total built up with add-ons.

I posted on here a few years back that I’d been in a boardroom with him, and I don’t trust him at all. In my case we were pitching a £1.2m outsource, it was all priced, negotiated, budgeted for, and ready for signature, then he got involved at the 11th hour.

We went down to London to to meet him and some of the Exec and he basically told us he wanted the contract at £750k, but couldn’t justify why apart from “that was his price”.

We just left, withdrew our proposal, and focussed on closing a couple of deals outside of football that were less high profile but more profitable.

Just grade A arrogance on his behalf, other member of his Exec who had worked on the deal for 6 months looked shocked, so he clearly didn’t loop them in on what he was planning to say.

My personal opinion on this is that City will give him an ultimatum, and pull out if he doesn’t agree to it. I don’t think we are likely to be bossed by him, our Exec team want full control.
I think it's going to be down to how hard Kane pushes for the move now.

If he really wants it he may need to claim "his head isn't in the right place to play" or something along those lines, or he needs to speak out publicly about the "Gentlemen's agreement" etc.

I don't know the guy but from what I can tell from here, Levy wouldn't give the square root of one fuck if Kane tried to force his hand or embarrass him.
