Harry Kane

Ornstein still saying City are offering £100m fixed and £30m in add ons - Spurs want £150-160m.

The one thing that keeps me hoping here is how many rumours there are about Spurs trying to buy players.

They've already spent nearly £50m on Romero and so wouldn't spend large amounts on a backup striker - if they buy a forward for £60m then it's to replace Kane, not to sit on the bench and watch him.
For me, the biggest indicator is the lack of noise from Spurs. If this were all done and dusted and Harry was staying put, even those in the space station and the indigenous tribes of Brazils far flung reaches would know about it.

Tuesday 31 August around 22:50 mark it in your diary, Levy has!!
Won't happen before then, if it actually goes through. Spurs play on the 29th vs Watford and Levy will keep him for that game. Then there's an international break the first weekend in September so Kane and any Spurs new replacements for him will have nearly 2 weeks to acclimatise to their new clubs - if it all goes through.

What is the general feeling now from everyone? is it on/off? my view is it is off and I've thought that since we got Grealish because of the large fee - although a lot have said on here that the belief is that we can still afford Kane so I could be wrong on that. It's just that last year we played with an interchangeable front 3 for the most part and it worked out well so do we actually need a no.9? we have Jesus at the end of the day who could be used as an out and out striker but rarely is. More importantly, if Kane doesn't come will there be anyone else or are Pep/Txiki not that concerned about this position?

Is there anyone else they are actively looking at for example? Personally I was surprised that we didn't move for Lukaku but if he had his heart set on a Chelsea return then there would have been no point I guess.

Chelsea get 34 million from Roma for Tammy Abrahams. We sell to Italian clubs we end up paying them !!

Wait didn't all your "ITKs" say this was already done last thursday and they were waiting til after the game to announce lol

What a surprise respected journalists are more reliable than 'ITKs" with Vlahovic off to Atleitco and Martinez staying at inter, theres almost no chance this happens this summer..

This opportunity is make or break for his career,he wont get a better one,and it will be the difference between retiring as one of the games greats, with a trophy cabinet to support that,or alternatively, retire having enjoyed an excellent, but ultimately disappointing, career, where he will be labelled as one of the games biggest underachievers.

Kane will be very aware of that, and as much as he cares for Spurs,he doesnt want to continue as the bridesmaid every season......he wants out and he'll not allow the move to collapse.

Harry isn't so stupid as to deliberately breach his contract, get fined and have that monkey around his neck for the rest of his career.

Only hindsight would tell, but if he he did that and ended up joining us and winning the League and Champions League this season, then I think he could get over that.

not quite sure i agree , Levy has always said he aint going nowhere, and that hasn't changed so nothing has changed from their point of view, no need to keep repeating themselves ?

Seriously!!!!!

I genuinely think he has a point. Infact, I suggested this on Sunday on the way home from Spurs after our weaknesses and lack of a focal point were exposed. These clubs are in cohorts and will do anything they can to make us weaker.

Look at Villa offering Grealish to United and Madrid because they didn't want to do business with us.

It's one claim on this transfer forum that actually holds some water if you think about it!

Sky et al would be creaming themselves at being able to put us down with that news. The fact they haven't for me at least, is very promising.

Even if there were, and I very much doubt it, I don't suspect it would have any influence
There were rumblings in and around the Grealish deal that Villa would prefer to see to anyone except City "for the good of the league", so I suspect there is similar here, but firstly Levy isn't exactly in the rest of the league's good books either and ultimately, to quote the great Ted Dibiase, everyone has a price.

I agree with you and I do think Levy is interested in selling but won't negotiate if it is 1p below what he expects whereas we keep probing hoping that he will negotiate with us and in all honesty, he probably won't. I expect this to go down to deadline day we won't get him and won't have a plan B.
