Harry Kane

Can't believe we're haggling over such massive transfer fees for Kane when Ings, Andre Silva, Martinez, Calvert-Lewin and Bamford either are available, or were available, this summer for significantly cheaper. We need someone who can stand in the right place and slam the ball in the net when one of our trillion attacking midfielders puts it on a place for them. We don't need to spend £130m to rectify that issue.
Put the rod away

Surely Dortmund would tempted to sell Haaland in this transfer window if City offered them £150mill? If City sign Kane this season, then Haalnad isn't coming to City next season. And with Cavani leaving United at the end of this season, they will go in for Haalnd without any other PL club after him, which is very worrying, as it gives United a free run at Haaland.
don't understand the confidence in saying "Surely they'll sell for this amount?" when they've repeated over and over they are not going to do that

Not a good alternative, an alternative would be pay Dortmund and Haaland and co whatever they want to get the deal done!

This thread is like Groundhog Day. Haaland to Bayern is way more likely anyway.

Hopefully Pogba leaving for free will have them in a conundrum. They will then need to replace a creative midfielder and a forward, how much will that cost them?

With respect, you’ve got no more idea what ‘it will take’ than I have. You’re not Levy’s wingman in these negotiations, any more than I am Khladoon’s. We’re fans posting on a forum, going off what we both believe to be the truth on this negotiation.

And for clarity - paying the asking price isn’t where negotiations start. Ever. That’s not negotiation, that’s just paying the full list price. Do that, and there’s really no need for any negotiation. But you know that already.

So - to your question. Why am I sure the deal is happening? Because I’m going off the example of Levy’s previous in exactly the same situation in the past, as per my post. He sells his best players every time, right at the end of the window. This is a fact, not an opinion.

My opinion is he does this as it gives him an instant get out for having to reinvest the fee in full, whilst giving it out that he’s some kind of tough guy negotiator - which Spurs fans lap up every time, even though he’s done everything in his power to weaken his team as much as possible yet again.

Why are Kane’s people briefing? We don’t know that they are. Neither you nor I have any idea who’s behind that briefing. You take it at face value and believe it’s Kane’s people - fair enough. I believe it’s part of the public theatre behind deals like this, and serves the developing narrative behind Kane leaning Spurs for City.
Good post mate.

I think City simply dont have £150m to spend on another transfer this season without breaking any FFP rules. To even spend £120-130m we most likely have to offload someone like Bernardo Silva. And thats assuming the sale of fringe players like Herrera go through as well.

An alternative neither you nor me know is either available or affordable. Unlike the club, so either accept the clubs decision and trust they have the best long interests of the clubs future in their thinking, or don't. Just don't keep deluding yourself, Haaland is an option he isn't it's gone move on.

Not much. Pogba's wages have gone. Apparently Haaland has a low buy out clause next season. Chelsea have spent £100mill on Lukaku. We're about to blow £125mill-£150mill on Kane. Bar United, only Liverpool in the PL might go in for Haaland next season. Or Levy and Spurs with our money. ;-) I rate Kane, but this is madness. Abroad, Bayern and Madrid will also go in for Haaland.

So I’ve been given a bit more detail. The meeting is with Kane’s camp not the club, and is happening in a hotel in Hertfordshire

I don't want to pour cold water on this information but we can have as many meetings as we like with Kane and his entourage, Levy and Spurs have him on contract for three more years, that's all that counts.

They’re all shit mate that’s why they’re cheaper.
Ings sold recently
Andre Silva 30 and sold recently
Martinez is a number 10 and nit good enough or the right position
Calvert-Lewin ffs he’s crap
We do need to spend that amount of money when what we’re trying to achieve requires the best of the best not average players.
Exactly how young are you Bob because based on your post you’re still being breast fed
