Harry Kane

With respect, you’ve got no more idea what ‘it will take’ than I have. You’re not Levy’s wingman in these negotiations, any more than I am Khladoon’s. We’re fans posting on a forum, going off what we both believe to be the truth on this negotiation.

And for clarity - paying the asking price isn’t where negotiations start. Ever. That’s not negotiation, that’s just paying the full list price. Do that, and there’s really no need for any negotiation. But you know that already.

So - to your question. Why am I sure the deal is happening? Because I’m going off the example of Levy’s previous in exactly the same situation in the past, as per my post. He sells his best players every time, right at the end of the window. This is a fact, not an opinion.

My opinion is he does this as it gives him an instant get out for having to reinvest the fee in full, whilst giving it out that he’s some kind of tough guy negotiator - which Spurs fans lap up every time, even though he’s done everything in his power to weaken his team as much as possible yet again.

Why are Kane’s people briefing? We don’t know that they are. Neither you nor I have any idea who’s behind that briefing. You take it at face value and believe it’s Kane’s people - fair enough. I believe it’s part of the public theatre behind deals like this, and serves the developing narrative behind Kane leaning Spurs for City.

You might well be right, this briefing could be Kane's people but it could just as easily be Levy's. This scenario works for him, he reluctantly sells a disgruntled player for a kings ransom, just in time to do nothing other than trouser it.

I think City simply dont have £150m to spend on another transfer this season without breaking any FFP rules. To even spend £120-130m we most likely have to offload someone like Bernardo Silva. And thats assuming the sale of fringe players like Herrera go through as well.
We got 250m in our sky rocket.
Is it just us that gets tagged with ffp or do Chelsea and the red mardarses get a free pass on ffp?
Sick to fuckin death of these kind of posts not thinking before they speak.
Or was you being a clever fucker trying wum us all?

Either Silva and a buying club are waiting on City getting Haaland before the transfer is announced, or we're going for Kane regardless if Silva get's sold or not? Whatever is happening, City don't seem to be taking a Levy 'no' for an answer. City are still trying to sign Kane, without any news of players leaving City.

True, but busy people don’t tend to travel for no reason
Could it be that we are being good guys and telling Harry it’s off due to Levy’s demands? I can’t imagine we would be travelling to discuss his contract at this late stage, I would have assumed its been discussed weeks ago (and agreed).

We are rich, and we have the best owners in the league. It doesnt mean we can spend as much as we perhaps would like because of regulations that are out of our control. This cant possible be news to you?

So I’ve been given a bit more detail. The meeting is with Kane’s camp not the club, and is happening in a hotel in Hertfordshire
that's interesting. maybe they'll ask him to hand a transfer request?

The contract was agreed on the day as Grealish’s a few weeks back.

I’ve got no idea about this meeting. I don’t think people on both sides would travel unless is was really necessary

... we aren't accepting a derisory 125 million.

City are trying to get Kane for a low ball figure.

Just 25 million more than Grealish is an insult.

A couple of days ago I read on here that it was us City fans who had lost all sight of the value of money!

Jesus wept, have you actually heard yourself????

tomorrow will tell us more if we dont hear anthing today, if Hk plays in that game then i'd say were miles off a deal, you dont play a 130m plus striker and risk a knock on the verge of a transfer, just MO though, unused sub is my guess

This attitude blows my mind. That derisory £125m is £25m more than anyone has ever (EVER) paid for a player in this country. Its an offer that comes right in the middle of a global pandemic when most clubs haven't got a pot to piss in.

The media are at it as well - "City need to get serious with their offer if they want him" - we haven't offered 50p and Mendy.

Spurs might want £150m and Kane is under contract so thats fair enough, but this idea that City are taking the piss is absolutely laughable considering the offer we have put on the table.
Couldn't have put it better myself mate. Well said that man!

or woman

or fire-engine (people identify as all sorts these days - just covering all the bases so as not to offend) :D
