Harry Kane

I think you signed Grealish because Pep likes him. There is no real footballing justification for signing him. More like a gift from the owners to Pep.

Is he going to be the next CR7?
No.

Is he better than KDB?
No.

Does he get more goals/assists than Sterling?
No.

Is he an improvement on Foden?
Dunno?

Do City need him?
No.

Does he half nice calves?
Yes.

Will he sell stuff?
Yes.

Does he make Pep happy?
Yes.

He’s been playing at a struggling club so he hasn’t had the chance to be most of the things you’ve listed above

A truly bitter and clueless post

Haha. I used to be a regular in the hospitality box of a certain City supporting ex world champion boxer - he regularly used to take the piss out of his brother (also a boxer) by saying he should start getting his sponsors to print their ads on the bottom of his boxing boots due to their level of exposure whilst being down on the canvas... I reckon something similar could be marketable for Donny 'The Bench' Van De Beek
Donny Von DeBench

He used KDB as the example to which I said I’d tell him to mind his own fucking business (as he just signed a new contract which takes him to 34).

He did say "KDB and other players", and my reply said that Sterling was a better example as he was negotiating now. I'm the one you told to "give my head a wobble" for making exactly the same point as you did about Sterling.

Ultimately, isn't the point that the OP made; that a high Haaland wage would push up other players wages (even if it was due to an artificially low fee) correct (even if he'd have been better not focusing on KDB)?

No. He’s not correct in that at all.

We are going back to ‘x’. High wage plus low fee is equal to normal fee plus normal wage

Signing a player on a free or with a lower does no more to increase wage inflation than any purchase.

I’m getting very bored of having to keep explain this. Can we agree to stop soon?

Looks like there could be movement on the Saul situation at athletico..which could help barnardo get his move which hopefully helps us with kane! Long shot but here is hoping haha

Why do you care so much to spend so much time making such a comment? It might reflect your opinion, but the length of the post suggests that the move has upset you in some way. Pep will probably make Grealish a better player, good for England, and good for him. If you are a Villa fan your club got rich quick, and you should be glad because Villa have spent loads over the last two seasons to stay in the EPL. If you are anyone else, I suggest you get a life And spend your time supporting your own team and looking forward to the challenge

Unfortunately Saul to Chelsea or the rags makes them stronger! We get kane though and everyone shits the bed again.

How do you square that with "Sterling WILL be using that very argument to get the biggest pay increase he can." and the example I gave of De Gea?

I think it was Keiran Maguire's book where the United transfers of Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez were compared. In the accounts, both were almost identical, but it was Sanchez's wage that was used to drive up De Gea's wage.

We can stop now if you like ;)
