Shirley it's time to change the "misleading" title of this thread after his trial by (UK) media acquitted him of any wrong-doing and his appeal "nullified" the original verdict (for the time being)? We're besmirching the good name of one of this nation's sporting heroes (and by all accounts an all round good egg who it's hard to believe would get involved in anything like this) who's only real crime is to fall foul of those horrible, corrupt, foreigners.

Harry Maguire and his pals had some kind of altercation - possibly with opposition fans, possibly with gangsters! When the Police were called he decided to respect the British values of fairness and decency by attacking said Police and again at the Station. Maybe he was pissed up maybe he had a snifter of something else. Then he tried the "D'you know who I am?" All conjecture . Then the car crash of an interview with Roan. It's fair to say Easter Island's second best footballer (after Nigel Clough :) ) has done himself no favours with an ill judged and arrogant sob story that unravels under any rational scrutiny. Hell have his chance in a Greek court to argue his innocence.

To any reasonable person it shows how piss poor the standard of journalism is in this country. As many others have said it shines a spotlight on how our players are treated. Rather than say its racism pure and simple the shirt bias also plays a part.

Hopefully at the appeal the full facts of the case will be definitively established. He'll have to live with the consequences of his actions.

What's not in doubt is how facile and cringeworthy Dan Roan is a an alleged journalist. What is it with people from Northants? I used to work with a total cvnt from there. I probably flushed shits that have more integrity than Roan.


And he looks like Neil's dad from the Inbetweeners.

The poor little mite was arrested by an ELITE undercover squad of 120 major crimes officers drafted in from Athens according to the .Sun. No wonder he was terrified. I would be too.
And then l would start laughing at this latest load of old bollocks. An elite squad breaking their cover to arrest squabbling drunks? I dont buy that. Or anything else from the litany of lies.
 
Why do people cite the Mail and the Sun? , as though they're a credible source of information for things like this. pile on for what it's worth ,but allegiances aside : no one really knows what went on.
Just don't use those ne'er do wells to validate any official line or arguement. Likewise the mirror or any other daily really. And watching the interview i dont think Dan roan was especially sympathetic or sycophantic . The proof is in the pudding: Maguire.

I cited the Sun becuase their story is so ridiculous - sort of 'it needed Greece's toughest undercover cops to take in our 'Arry'. Just another example of the bollocks they and others put out to the public.
As for the British Broadcasting Cooperation not only did they deliberately feed the lie that his convictions were quashed the interview was the softest and most unquestioning l have heard in a case where the facts are disputed. They just let him give his story unchallenged even though it needed questioning in its content and delivery and could have been done by a junior reporter.
Instead they put on their top sports reporter, a man with a known nasty streak, but was an absolute pussy.
I dislike being misled or lied to if you prefer by anyone particularly the BBC my main news source for many years. Being done for United makes it even worse.
