The Sun.

United beat City to £80mill Maguire signing.

Next it will be.

Maguire subs City in World record transfer to United.

When in reality, it was, Maguire really wanted Pep and City, but City walked away, as they weren’t prepared to pay £80mil for Maguire.

So that’s Sanchez, Fred, and now Maguire. We’ve cost the Rags an absolute fortune.

The Glazers and Woodward must hate City.

No wonder the PL FFP wages cap was recently dropped alllowing United to go on another reckless transfer and wages spending spree.

As it stands we need homegrown. What that means for Otamendi is the thing. We cant go non homegrown if we plan to keep him. On the other hand if we buy and that makes him want to leave, we could end up limiting ourselves to homegrown when we don’t have to because Otamendi goes. Bit of a catch 22.

Ta. Seen a few reports floating now that nico wants to leave so maybe we pulled back on the maguire deal if we think nico will be gone and we can get better value abroad? Manolas would have been a good signing to be honest

Jacob Harry Maguire is an English professional footballer who plays as a centre back for Premier League club Leicester City and the English national team. He will now have to endure a season playing with Calamity Jones at Manchester United.Wikipedia

Quick question re: no room for a foreign player unless Otta leaves. Is this assuming that Mangala is named in the squad or has his omission been taken into account?

Have it on a decent source that Ota doesn't want to leave...
