I think we want maguire and chillwell
We know the buyout for chillwell and it’s all lined up
But I think we can’t buy chillwell first as they will refuse to sell maguire
Or will just put price even higher

Alternatively Leicester might have said we can have maguire (subject to negotiations) but we have to make it clear we’re not buying a left back and not try for chillwell

We're not getting Chilwell because it would cost too much. We would have to get rid of Mendy and it's not going to happen even with his injuries. No one is going to buy him and even if there was we would have to take a substantial loss plus buy Chilwell on top of that. We wouldn't be able to get our other targets.

Let’s see if it pans out that way!
Loaning Mendy out is an option if he gets fit and firm he still has a value

Imagine Chilwell did come. Does that mean the end of Mendy as I don't see Zinchy going anywhere. I like Chilwell though. All hypothetical though. I like them all.

I just think we have got lucky with left back and def midfield for last two years
Don’t think pep will let it happen again
Nothing suggest mendy will stay fit and if so we have no backup to zinchenko
And briefing to the media we don’t want a left back seems odd

Not odd, just a fact we aren't looking for a left back.

Hope y4 right, he has to play a lot better than he did when playing, defencively poor IMO & definately can't play Leroy together.

Zinchenko & Delph much better on the ball & good at tucking in whereas Mendy is stronger down the line & his crossing is class.
True injuries have been holding him back but would we have done better if he had been fit last year & this year??
Mendy has the Summer to get back onside with Pep..
I would keep the Fernandes money & don't buy Cancelo at RB, keep Danilo & use the money on both Maguire & Chilwell.

Yeah thats true Mendy is quality when we up against park buses also the way we play against really good teams especially with pace up top the best left back in the world would look suspect.

However, if Maguire is the number 1 target. God knows who is number 2?
 
With all due respect to Leicester.

Like Southampton, smaller clubs can only hold on to their best players for so long.

The pressure from the buying club, the player and their agent, who both want the move, becomes to big.

There is no point in keeping a want away player, who will ultimately run his contract down if he isn’t allowed to leave, and will leave on a free.

I’d love Maguire to sign for City, but not for £90mill. Let United pay that.

What was the Mahrez starting figure maybe 90m??

After 2 weeks of messing about the deal will be struck at 65m with bonuses of titles etc.

That's how things work whether people like or not Liecester will fight all day long.

I expect Nathan Aki/Dunk £50m to go there & Maguire to City 65m
