Harry Maguire

I feel the same way as our board probably do. He's a great player, but we are not in desperate need of a player in that position and United are not exactly going to be pushing us this season. There will certainly be similar quality for better value in the coming windows.

Their defense of:
Wan Bissaka (50) - lindelof (40) - maguire (85) - shaw (30)

Is now more expensive than ours of:
Walker (45) - stones (47) - laporte (57) - mendy (52)

I know which one id rather have
I’d rather have Zinchenko and he was only peanuts.

80m.

So by that measure he’s much better than Laporte and better than Van Dyke.

The desperation at the swamp is off the scale.

This kid and Wan Bukkake for 130m.

Just think about that.

I don’t think he’d get in our best xi, so for me he’d improve our squad not xi.
If we’d bought him, he’d have started most games instead of Stones I reckon. He can play out from the back, but has power in the aerial duels too.

‘I don’t care how much he costs...’ ‘we needed a centre half...’ ‘we’re rich anyway...’ ‘what’s another 10-20 million...’ ‘that’s the going price...’

All taken from their forum. Given that the same could be said for 6-7 of their positions, you have to wonder when the lunacy will stop. Never, hopefully.

People will probably disagree with it but the quality of player you buy, what price you pay for them, and when and where you buy them from is indicator of how your club is run.

When you through 85 million at what many consider is only an above-average CB late in a window, with no other bids in the vicinity of the end amount and a club like Leceister holding you to ransom, it reeks of desperation. Especially when they turned their noses up at buying him for a lot cheaper last season.

He’s very one paced, would struggle with the high line and is very poor when tracking runners.
I don’t mind the lad, and agree he’s good in the air, but he’s more error prone than Stones, and that’s when asked to play in a far less risky fashion.
I really think it’s a Buckley dodged.
