Has anyone put their central heating on yet?

So many people will be sat in their coats trying to keep warm they can’t afford to run the heating having to choose between heat and food in our wealthy country is wrong.

Thankfully we have a lovely warm house “to warm during spring and summer” Winter when it’s really cold a quick boost is all it needs” so no I don’t feel smug anymore just guilty I can’t help someone

I have had it on for ninety mins every morning for about ten days with a few more cold mornings to come , just have to suck up the cost as i am feeling particulary cold and ill this winter, my health is suffering in this cold

Because of a bad flair up with pain i have had to stop my early morning cold weather walk , now i have gone soft and really feeling the cold sitting still , soft southerner !

Never again the cold and damp makes us ill last winter we tried to spare the heating and do all those extra things recommended to keep warm. But it only worked so far and life became miserable constantly watching the consumption of gas and electricity
Finally we gave up and turned the damn thing on it was April before my bones warmed through.

We regularly used to get temperatures like that with roads out of Rossendale Valley closed. -17* below and our brick patio wall moved six inches away from the flags.
Couldn‘t wait to leave and come back to sunny Manchester where the temp hardly ever dips below freezing
