Has anyone put their central heating on yet?

A bit off topic but:we are shortly going away for 2 months. Our apartment is 7 years old so pretty energy efficient. My quandry is what temperature to leave the heating on. I'm toying with setting it at around 12c and if it comes on occasionally then so be it. Any heating experts out there?

I'll need your address before answering.

Just leave it on frost setting and maybe leave a few upstairs windows on the part opening for circulation.

We always leave empty house jobsites at 5c so the pipes don't freeze.

Catch 22 for us .

We use a dehumidifier as our bungalow suffers from condensation.

The bungalow is warmer if we run the dehumidifier so we can run the heating lower and not as often.

Dryer air is easier to warm but it means running electric to power the dehumidifier.
We leave ours operating on a constant, but running costs are negligable. We set the level at around fifty. and if it fluctuates outside of three above or below of that then it switches back on. Every 30 minutes it sticks it's tongue out to check humidity levels, and if it's within the set parameter goes back to sleep for another 30 minutes.

We currently pull around 10 litres of water a week and have no further issues with condensation or mould spots. Running costs are 9p an hour, but it's seldom kicks in for more than 3-4 hours a day.
