Has anyone put their central heating on yet?

As i dont have a working boiler i am freezing cold today , i have a t shirt , warm jammies , gloves and a throw round my neck and shoulder, sometimes covering my head as well

Oh joy
Can you not pop to Argos and pick up a fan heater to get you through the cold patch ? At least keep the warmth in one room?

Wife has it on seemingly 24/7 and yes, she doesn’t pay for the gas and electricity.
It's only slightly more expensive than having it going on and off to do this. We've got our set to 21c without it going off. It's costing about 60p per day more but a lot more comfortable especially first thin in the morning.

Depends how insulated your home is, if I set my thermostat to 16c it would still be on 20 hours a day I reckon.

Unfortunately our house is not as thermally efficient as it should be mate so we just have try and minimise energy costs as best we can but it’s hard.

I’ve fucked the dryer off and we now use a dehumidifier and to support the heating we have a small portable heater fan to quickly boost room temps we can move around.

We have a smart meter that frightens the life out of me, doesn’t work (EDF) who refuse to fucking help and I’m at the point of just accepting the rising costs and just getting on with it.
