I'm not sure where the belief that success = loads of corporates seems to have come from, but it appears to be common belief throughout the PL.

Think of all the recent success Chelsea have had, they didn't really see any change in match day attendance; they're only just looking at moving grounds now, well and truely after the honeymoon period that would have 'netted' plenty of the fairweather fans and turned them into revenue streams.

I'm not sure how well it's worked at Arsenal, i've been in both the league and the cup and neither time was the ground full. They also attract a completely demographic of fan than we do.

Personally i've yet to see anything to convince me that we need a bigger ground, or would even benefit much from increased capacity.

Chelsea always had a reputation for attracting the rich and famous even before Abromavich. Less scope to build on their success.

I dont think its just a success thing. We have a huge appeal now just because of the way the season ended. Not just the last day but the massive derby immediately before.

But I agree its too soon to be expanding the ground.A couple of seasons when its hard to get a ticket will also boost the appeal for corporates.

Nope, all part of the great scheme. We were told 5 phases and we are in phase 2. I reckon (no inside information) that this will be in phase 5, most expensive bit but the bit that puts the finishing touches to the whole project. IMO we need to regenerate area first of all hence the training facilities, get that up and running and then see where we are

Without a doubt.
Even before ADUG came onboard, Marty Edelman (one of New York's top real estate guys) was 'signed' to the project, the seeds of which were planted back when the Olympic bid was a golden twinkle in the City Father's eyes...there's more than a few clues there.

As beautiful as t'etihad currently is, there's an air of 'unfinished business' to the stadiu, specifially the north and south ends.
Patience mind you...this expansion can't be instantly downtubed through one's facepod.

Yes we've sold out for pretty much every league game, but the demand isn't there yet. I mean look at the amount of empty seats for CC Semi Final and the Champions League games only just sold out.

If a 3rd tier was added north and south, any guesses what the capacity would increase to?

Everyone saying about the corporates, I agree that there's mega money to be made there.

Only problem is for the majority of matches this season there have been empty seats in the corporate area - to the extent that thick away fans have sung 'empty seats' and 'couldnt sell all your tickets' pointing towards them.

Any ideas on how to attract more of the prawn sandwich brigade?

I would be very interested to know how our corporate numbers and revenue compares to united's . There have been empty seats and boxes at both grounds this year but I'm guessing they have four or five times the capacity of us.

It's an area we can extract singificant extra revenue from now.
