Has it disappointed you that were not expanding the stadium,

I went on a ground tour ages ago and the guy who took the tour said our stadium was designed by the same people as arsenals (you can see the similarities) and that to expand it they would put 3 tiers all the way round which would result in a capacity of 60,000

No. It's not worth it yet. Wait for a couple of years of sustained success and I'm sure we will be attracting much bigger crowds on a regular basis. Now is not the time to do out. Imagine carling cup night against Scunthorpe. 30,000 people in a 60,000 stadium.

Don't forget Barca often have attendances of 65,000 (some 30,000 down on their maximum for league games). Their average is 82,000

When was the last time we had 50-60k for a game?

When was the last time Maine Road had a 50-60k capacity? 1963-1972

When was the last time Maine Road had 50-60k? Derby County, 1972, 55,023.
Chelsea, 1972, 53,322. Rag Bastards, 1972, a whopping 63,326.

it can't be done with current prices and without a standing section imo, not until we have seriously sustained success.

The fact is that expanding the ground now would be an embarrassment. We can't 'properly' sell out every home game with the capacity we are at now, so adding an extra 10,000-15,000 seats would cause a bigger problem. It would mean more hate from the casuals on here and more stick from opposition fans seeing a sea of blue seats. Wait a good few years before even thinking about expanding. Constantly challenging for trophys and a real standing section are the key.
