Seriously. Im not bothered about there being empty seats but if we went from 48k to 60k i doubt we would sell out at the minute. We would sell 50k for most games but above that im not convinced. I can't see any major repricing process either.
I dont disagree with that.

I do disagree with people saying we aren't selling out league games this season though.

Hence the which bit query you loon. Your obviously in the pro expansion camp. So say we did expand, would the council want to renegotiate the rental charge?
I'm anti expansion actually. I prefer a full house to seeing empty seats.

I also highlighted the bit I disagreed with in red for the hard of thought. Are you reading on a grayscale monitor?

I think the club should get the wheels in motion with regards to this now. With planning and all the inevitable consultation that it will entail it's not going to start for another couple of years, by which time the 'project' will be further on.

As things stand I reckon we could support a stadium of 55k without any real problems. I've found it harder to get tickets this season than ever before and that's going to continue as we become more successful.

I don't see 60k being an issue in a couple of years.

Im on tapatalk which doesn't support that function im afraid.

I took it you were pro expansion from your comments so there you go. I've no problem with empty seats. Would you prefer a 48k sell out rather than 55k in a 60k capacity?

Why though? 55k would surely make more noise, and it would mean more money to the club.

We often make more noise with 35k in cup games.

For me it's the aesthetic. Just my personal preference.

Well lads, at a guess Abu Dhabi will not expand the stadium until they feel that they can sell out a new expanded stadium..There´s no point otherwise.
So far we have had good numbers this season with sell-outs almost every game but it have been touch and go sometimes.

That brings us to a certain conflict in our fanbase, that in itself needs to be expanded to fill the stadium, to the chagrin of many old school fans that regard footy as a working class game for proper local fans.
In some ways it reminds me of the discussions about moving from Maine Road actually..The same divide is there between traditionalists and those that want to emulate the top clubs like Barca, Real and yes, the rags as well we must admit.
The reason of course is money. City is a monetary black hole, it can´t continue like that forever.

Surely there is a point... the installation of new corporate boxes and sales of them, which would increase matchday revenue significantly? We'd also fill the majority of a 55,000 seater for many of our games.

Making numbers up here but if we expand we might have to pay an extra 1m to the council and maybe £1m extra to the police per season. That's just over £100k a game.

At an average of say £40 a ticket that's over 2500 tickets just to break even. We would under premier league rules have to increase the away section to 3000 when we give 2800 max i think. They often won't sell apart front the top 5/6 away followers.

That's near on 3k tickets to break even. So 51k. Would we have sold out 51k for most games this season. Maybe some.

If they expand they'll need to lower the matchday prices . If i didn't have a seasoncard there's no way i'd pay £40 for a game
