When we got took over, all we ever got from other fans was that players only came to us for the money. Well now Jordan Henderson has left Sunderland to join a team with lower attendances, with no trophies for 5 years, no Champions League football for 2 years and no European football at all next season. They are however, paying him 4 times more money than he was on. Whenever I speak to a Liverpool fan for the next year, I'll be pointing out that players only join them for the money.

They'll just start waffling on about how good they were in the 70's and 80's. I wouldn't even bother having the conversation with them, just laugh your bollocks off at them when he turns out to be a waste of money.

No he's gone for the history and the fans who are well known as the loyalist, wittiest and most good natured fans in the world.

If hed gone for the prestige and the "Istree" then liverpool wouldnt have had to triple his wages..
Every player thinks about the money, its only the multi millionare established good players that can be picky.

Who wouldn't,but also.... it is very apparent that the Dippers have serious momentum and are going to pose a real threat to the top four, along with the fact that they are still a huge, world famous club, being managed by a legend,is why any player plucked from relative obscurity would jump at the chance to go and play for.

Let's just think.
You are young, play for Sunderland who are never going to challenge for anything other than a league cup or FA Cup, Europa league at best. Then, one day, you get the call from your agent that there is a move to Liverpool in the offing.

It really is a no brainer. There were NO reports of 'he's gone for the money' when we signed Johnson, and this is a carbon copy signing.

If so then why do liverpool have to pay him 3 times as much wages ??

99% of footballers are fucking mercenaries. We know this, they know we know. Who wouldn't change companies for 3 times your wage. Of course there are still your odd romantic who believes that your average footballer really gives a flying fuck about the club or fans they play for. THEY DON'T

Then I hear crap about Gerrard, Carragher, Giggs and Scholes being loyal. Do you really think if they came through the ranks at Bury or Lincoln they would have spent their entire carears there? NOPE

Most players wouldn't piss on us if we were on fire
