Has Mark Hughes Impressed you

Yeah - we need to stick with him for a while - clubs that don't stick with their managers end up nowhere - he needs to improve our away form though if we are going to make a serious challenge for the top 4/5.

I have to admit I wanted him gone by last christmas and was begining to wander if he was NOT going to attract big names to the club, then he got Tevez and then ADE and now its a case of watch this space.

I Would hope to see a massive improvment in results considering we have spent £100m.

Im 100% Behind him as we all should be.

If at the end of the season we are still looking like a sack of shit then I think a change of manager should be thought about.

My only real worry about MH is that he seems a little immune to the word BUY SOME FUCKNG DEFENDERS . . . . .

Appart form that YEP im all impressed

Hmm now let me think . Is Bridge a defender and maybe Toure and perhaps even Given. Terry might not have come in the end but Lescott is still pending so what was that about defenders again?

And the answer to the original question is Yes

I feel a bit sorry for him sometimes ..... both he and the club are now in the world spotlight , and his every mistake will be highlighted ....... to be a real hit here he has to mould a club that has just been content to get by for thirty years into a winning combination , and not one that's just a fly-by-night either.

Neither he , nor this club , know how long the fairytale will last , so the pressure's on ....... could be a bumpy nine months ahead!

the owner has impressed me. as for mark hughes i`ll wait and see. when people were clammering for his head last season i said we should give him till christmas unless we are absolute shite. i`ll be impressed by,
1. the quality of our football.
2 the results

my biggest problem is i would like to see the best manager for the job, this m.h. might prove to be

the best coach and back room staff.

i just find it a coincidence that the best people for the job mainly seem to be

welsh

He's got 6 matches before Ossie Ardiles gets the job as his 3-2-5 formation will suit our strikers.

No.

we (or rather he) had a very very poor (shit) season last year and he has done absolutely nothing since the end of last season except....

spend loads of someone elses money.... anyone could do that, I could do it, you could do it... my mrs does it better than him...

the proof of the pudding will be in the eating, if he does well I'll be happy, but if he does shite I'll say so.

I just hope everyone on here can have the balls to be honest with themselves rather than make excuses. I'll be honest and if we do well I'll celebrate.

BTW... are Crystal palace better than Brighton?

Hughes has personally impressed me as a manager. I didn't really know that much about him before his Blackburn days as I didn't pay that much attention to his Welsh side.

He has shown that he is a manager who believes that the best teams, are the fittest teams and the most disciplined, which I happen to agree with. His training and coaching methods look to me, like they are moving the club in to a new realm of fitness and professionalism.

I'm not sure if he is the right man for the job long term, but if he carries on the way he has been going, I'd certainly back him. The main thing now, is to ensure that people are not jumping on his back too early, Rome was not built in a day. It doesn't matter how much we have spent, as if you look at percentage of clubs wealth, we've spent less than every other team in the league. Gelling players takes time, and I don't think the fans will give him that. Hopefully though, Al-Mubarak and Cook look pretty savvy, and they seem to know the score as far as timeframes for improvement are concerned. He needs this season to bed his team in, and next season to push for glory.
