Has Mark Hughes Impressed you

Hughes has personally impressed me as a manager. I didn't really know that much about him before his Blackburn days as I didn't pay that much attention to his Welsh side.

He has shown that he is a manager who believes that the best teams, are the fittest teams and the most disciplined, which I happen to agree with. His training and coaching methods look to me, like they are moving the club in to a new realm of fitness and professionalism.

I'm not sure if he is the right man for the job long term, but if he carries on the way he has been going, I'd certainly back him. The main thing now, is to ensure that people are not jumping on his back too early, Rome was not built in a day. It doesn't matter how much we have spent, as if you look at percentage of clubs wealth, we've spent less than every other team in the league. Gelling players takes time, and I don't think the fans will give him that. Hopefully though, Al-Mubarak and Cook look pretty savvy, and they seem to know the score as far as timeframes for improvement are concerned. He needs this season to bed his team in, and next season to push for glory.

I was reading an article today in one of the papers and it was going on about City/United rivalry going back since the early 70's. It also listed year by year over the last ten how much both clubs has spent. We are now only £30M ish behind the rags.

No, from day one I have found him unimpressive, the one thing I will say though this season he does seem a little more comfortable with the role and perhaps that will allow him to make a better fist of this season.

very unimpressed,he lacks the tactical nous and the man management skills to deal with the unhappy superstar footballer of todays game and i fear he`ll be exposed this season for the mediocre manager he is,be suprised if hes in the hot seat next season.(no splinters in my a*se!)

he is MANCHESTER CITYs manager WE MUST ALL BACK HIM 100% there will be setbacks, but WE ALL MUST BE PATIENT,im sure he will get it right IF WE LET HIM!!!!

Not in any way shape or form. When he took over as manager he appeared to be the right man with limited resources and crack ownership, I was right behind him. Since the whole ownership sadly all that has changed and he's systemantically taken the club backwards in terms of league positions points and expectations. IMHO he's out of his depth right now and unfortunatly he will be found out big.

Its sad to see that some folk are unable to see past the glamourus signings and money being thrown at the club at what is really going on. I never wanna see the club fail and him prove me wrong but if only you could win things spouting you mouth of and coming out with witty quips we'd win everything with Sparkey at the helm.

No.

we (or rather he) had a very very poor (shit) season last year and he has done absolutely nothing since the end of last season except....

spend loads of someone elses money.... anyone could do that, I could do it, you could do it... my mrs does it better than him...

the proof of the pudding will be in the eating, if he does well I'll be happy, but if he does shite I'll say so.

I just hope everyone on here can have the balls to be honest with themselves rather than make excuses. I'll be honest and if we do well I'll celebrate.

BTW... are Crystal palace better than Brighton?

Weren't you the guy who said you'd not be coming back until Hughes got the sack because we'd "never" do well with him at the helm. I also seem to remember the word "never" being used in terms of his ability to attract players. And Tevez, Adebayor, RSC, Barry would not sign for you Mrs.

Hate the way he sits there and farts into the microphone at every press conference.

Off the pitch - completely

His transfers and interviews are spot on

On the pitch - not so much

We have played some lovely football at times, and scoring isnt a problem. But he seems to lack the ability to change the game with subs and appears to have no plan B. Admittedly we didnt have great subs last year, so maybe this could change

He should grovel to Brian Kidd and get him here as his tactical coach.
