Has the BBC become a Tory tool?

The thread title is a wind up right? Anyone watching BBC coverage of the Labour Party Conference could be forgiven for mixing up their presenters with the participants such is the level of sycophantic support. Even lifelong labour voters like me should be concerned at the blatant bias and wholly uncritical approach by the national broadcaster.

Did you watch last week’s conference coverage?

I don't pay attention to the Tories, only concerned that Labour makes itself electable and that will not be on the back of promises of building new Hattersleys & Brinningtons pretending to be like Milton Keynes.
Seems strange that you can decide how the BBC leans then. For all you know the sycophancy could have been through the roof last week.

I think you're just seeing a reflection of reality here. You have a fairly buoyant political party of not particularly exciting politicians who are seemingly garnering support from a broad cross section of society pretty much on the back of not saying much but not being headcases and not looking to set fire to the country. Their conference is pretty normal and aside from more in-depth political analysis, some of which does happen on Newsnight, the reporting of it is going to be 'fairly normal centre right people hold fairly normal centre right conference'. This contrasts to a basket case party and government which is embroiled in a seemingly never ending cycle of incompetence and psycho drama and who spent all of last week saying madder and madder things.
