They upped the ante on the lorry drivers strike to move attention away from the Cameron and his rich buddies story, and the press have taken the bait. The press should have done more digging, instead we've got front page coverage of fucking VAT on pasties/sausage rolls and a (currently) non existent drivers strike......piss poor.

The stuff that catches me out is the ridiculous taxes we pay, on things like petrol and cigarettes.

As a smoker of 5 years, i've considered quitting (probably should, for the best) in the last week or so due to the price hike for tobacco. Annoys me so much, going to other EU countries and getting them for far cheaper than we do here. Went to Lanzarote with my fiancee last summer and we were paying £1.30 a packet there, yet come home, get very similar cigarettes, but pay nearly £5 more :(

Admittedly, this is not the most important of grievances; but thats my two pence worth.

Its the fuel hikes!!! Cars are a must for some, cigs arent. I feel your pain but yeah maybe time to jack the fags in eh?
