Have lost £800

Can't believe it!!!

I have been saving up over the last year to help fund my way through university. I have been working part time on minimum wage. I'm going to university in September and this money was going to be a big help. I don't think I could save this amount of money up by September as well in order to replace it.
Apparently, according to the bank, I might have been a victim of identity fraud and the police are looking into it. I only realised the money was missing today but it apparently was withdrawn yesterday. I'm in so much shock and and haven't moved for the past hour :(

Banks are required by their own regulators to take a customers word for what has happened and reinstate any monies withdrawn whilst they conduct an investigation. If they try to tell you different demand to see someone senior in the bank. Go in person, don't speak to a phone jockey. There's a reason why they are manning the phones!

Don"t know what bank you are with! But I got done with fraud and my bank come good and payed up! Can't believe your bank are treating you like that

They said to me that it's not their problem when I rang them up. Apparently I should have been more careful

Hmmmmm, I'm not saying I don't believe you but all banks have a policy to refund in these circumstances. What exactly did they say ?

We had £1000 taken and HBOS repayed no questions asked. They suggested we had had our card skimmed.

Go to the bank and don't let them fob you off. If you don't get anywhere, go to the CAB. I am sure you will get your money back.
