As title, apart from buying in replacements for any transfers out (Bridge? Tevez?) does anyone else think we are unlikely to be buying many players over the next few years - maybe the odd one per season? We've only got 6 players 28 or over.......

Premier League Squad: Blue for players 28 or 29 Red for aged 30 Only Wayne Bridge over 30 (31 years old)........

Home grown: Barry, Bridge, Clichy, Hart, A Johnson, Lescott, Milner, Onuoha, Richards, Taylor.

Non-home grown: Aguero, De Jong, Dzeko, Hargreaves, Kolarov, Kompany, Nasri, Pantilimon, Nielsen, Silva, Tevez, Kolo Toure, Yaya Toure, Zabaleta.

Champions League squad:

Goalkeepers: Hart, Taylor, Pantilimon.
Defenders: Richards, Lescott, Clichy, Zabaleta, Kompany, Kolo Toure, Kolarov, Onuoha, Savic.
Midfielders: Barry, Milner, A Johnson, De Jong, Yaya Toure, Silva, Nasri.
Strikers: Dzeko, Tevez, Aguero, Balotelli.

I think we can forget about £50m signings with FFPR on the horizon and will be looking at promoting some youths or some of the better free signings to try and balance the books a bit.

I love Barry but he's probably only got 1 or 2 seasons left, Wilshere is a £35 million replacement waiting to happen imo

I can see us signing Messi and Ronaldo at some point..

The accelerated spending is over and rightly, it'll just be additions here and there now with hopefully a priority on developing our own players as we have one of the best youth setups in England and it will only get better. Our academy and EDS are loaded with youth internationals, if even four of them can become first team players in the next few years that is millions saved.

srsly?! Why would you want to replace a grafter with a creative (or at least attacking) player? Is this a common misapprehension here?

One assumes that future transfer windows will see smaller net expenditure, but we'll go for quality over quantity. Which is better.

Jack is awesome; He isn't an attacking player; but rather a box to box and with great defensive abilities.

Most people see Wishere as a creative option but for me he gets stuck into a tackle, he's strong, he's maybe short of a yard of pace - I see a lot of Barry in him.

And for where we're going, the creative midfield players have to be out of the very top drawer i.e Silva, Nasri, and I think Wilshere isn't quite in that league

We are never "done" spending until we win things. Every top club spends on a yearly basis. Even Barca have dropped £70 mil this summer. We have good players. But there will always be better options or a need for depth as our players get older.

If we just talk players, we are done spending really big..

There are other, more pressing areas to spend on.

Very much doubt that Bobby will be given any more money this season unless we pick up some injuries (fingers crossed we dont) if Carlos goes in January i reckon the £38/40 million fee would be banked.

Sheikh Mansour, his family and advisors are top business poeple and i think weve reached the point where they will want to slow and steady the spending on the team after basically putting together one of the best squads of players in the world (might sound cocky but i really think so if u compare ours against other squads) this has all been done in 3 years!!

We need a steady settled squad which you can only get if your adding the odd player here and there but as for buying 3 or 4 players at a time me thinks those days are gone as weve got VIRTUALLY TWO TEAMS OF TOP CLASS players in one SQUAD!!
