Had backstage passes for Kiss' 1980 UK tour so have met Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley. Simmons had Diana Ross with him.

Met Steve Harris of Iron Maiden at the Sunset Marquis in L.A. They were supporting UFO at the Long Beach Arena , which we had passes for. Met various member of UFO on a number of occasions, including standing stage side whilst they trashed their equipment at the Day on the Green festival in Oakland.

Met Ozzy having a quiet drink with his first wife (not Sharon) at a night club in S. Manchester after seeing him in concert. We were introduced to him by Ross Halfin the rock photographer, who was also responsible for getting us into the U.S. Gigs above when he was on tour with UFO.

I would have won this hands down mate (you know where I work), were it not for Hollywood Blue's roll call! Here goes:

Kylie Minogue
Mick Jagger
The Four Tops
The Killers
Donny Osmond
Beck
The Farm
Half Man Half Biscuit
Whitney Houston
Lenny Kravitz
Roger Daltry
Candi Staton
Nicole Atkins
Marianne Faithfull
The Boo Radleys
David (I think) from the Gypsy Kings
Rick Parfitt and Francis Rossi
Pete Burns

"Met" is stretching it a bit for some of them though.
"Hello, Sir"
"Mmph, hello (with the intonation of fuck off and leave me alone)"
.......was about the extent of it with Jagger, Beck and Daltrey, whilst Whitney Houston was too off her tits to even notice there was anyone there.
Had a regular Friday afternoon footy gig with The Farm and Half Man Half Biscuit in Birkenhead Park, used to work with Martin and Tim out of the Boo Radleys before they got famous (ish), and Pete Burns served me a few times in Probe records in Dipperland.

That is a pretty impressive list but I did restrict mine to properly met (albeit fairly briefly) and proper famous.

I could have added Phil Collen (Der Leppard) whose car my mates and I pushed up Charing Cross Road, where we spooted him broken down before he was famous: he was in the band Girl at the time, who supported Kiss in 1980. We chatted to their lead singer Phil Lewis, who went on to front L.A. guns, backstage at Wembley. He was complaining bout a cold and the next night they blew the gig out and if my friends' band had all bee there, they would have got the gig but one of the band was home in the Lake district:(. Bob Geldof and Paula Yates were also backstage but we did not speak to them.

Backstage at Day on the Green I queued up cor food behind Donnie Van Zant (brother of Ronnie and Johnny), lead singer of .38 Special and Kansas' bass player chatted to us whilst he was waiting to go on stage (they were second on the bill).

Sat and drank tea backstage with members of Twisted Sister, including front man Dee Snider, at Wrexham Football Ground, where they were supporting Motorhead.

Thin Lizzy used to let fans backstage after their gigs to get autographs so did that FTH; also got Robin Trower's autograph outside that venue.

Pretty sure I met Ross the Boss (guitarist in Manowar, Shakin' Street, The Dictators) backstage at the FTH: we were there as guests of his girlfriend.

Met Rick Wakeman on Hollywood Blvd one Sunday morning in 2008, none of the yanks seemed to know him, he's over 6 foot and he still had the long blond hair, I walked up to him and said Hello Rick and he didnt tell me to fuck off.

Had quite a chat about Yes albums (Ive been a fan of Yes since I was 18) and he is a City fan, I got a picture of me and him also, really nice bloke actually.

You say that like it's a bad thing.

Robert Smith used to shop in the same place I did. We had a few chats. He looks like a tramp.
