After many many seasons watching at Maine Road and then the Etihad, I have let the day pass today without renewing. Financially it's a lot of a struggle at the moment and with my lad moving to OZ it's not the same going on me tod...so that's it...Pub and sky from here on in.
I hope for more success on the pitch for the match going fans to enjoy.
Gonna miss it a lot.

Probably my last season coming up. I renewed at the last minute, but to be honest I really can't see myself doing it again. Christ, if we go and sign Rooney I'll have spunked away over £700!

You're certainly not alone. I don't think we'll sign Rooney but think the cost coupled together with non-City things will see me cut down considerably in the not so distant future.

As people get older their priorities and circumstances change and not everyone can afford £600+ a year. When you are a youngster football is your life,usually you go with a group of mates,it is a good day out,a few drinks,the match etcetera.

People then get married,have kids,morgages,regrettably some die,suddenly there may be just you going and it isn't so much fun anymore,it is just the game.

I worry with all the youth unemployment and the spiralling cost of football that the older ones who start to drop out won't be replaced,or for every two leaving,one is replaced.Unless the economic situation improves this is coming and football ignores it at it's peril.

I've been paying for two for the last few years (mine and originally my Dads) but I decided to stick to just the one this time as I seriously can't afford £585 x 2 anymore. Working man's game? Do me a favour!

Fortunately I do have someone to go with (in friends case fortunate to be going at all considering a serious operation he had last year) as it would be a lot harder to financially justify going on my own. Mainly because its always better to have someone to go with from my experiences. I don't have a problem with the prices though it may be a burden at the moment with other possible costs upcoming. Fortunately the direct debit plan should make it feasible and not too financially reckless.

How fast are they expected to sell this year? Reckon general sale will be fine on the 13th? I guess they may not sell as fast as last year but I certainly expect it to be well before August (don't think they sold until then at beginning of 2011/2012)

I could never imagine not going to the games but this year i renewed in the hope that i can muster the money when the Direct Debit dates arrive. Always thought when i got to 50 things would get easier. Home games, myself, 2 mates and my lad all meet up in town then get the tram, we used to drive but love the matchday experience now but all 4 of us are finding it hard financially, so much that 1 of my mates was not going to renew until i got my brother to go halves on the seasoncard. All those years where we could only dream of European away days and now they are a reality and many can't afford it, me included, a shame but that's the way it is. So for those that can afford to do it all, enjoy you bastards (-;

been a season ticket holder for 14 or 15 years but couldn't afford to re-new. however, my dad retired two weeks ago and used the money to buy a season ticket for both him and me (i'm grateful beyond belief and can hopefully return the favour one day). unless something changes for the better over the next 12 months, next season will probably be our last for a while.

Sorry to hear that pal and to all other blues who couldn't stretch to it this season.
Lets hope the club comes up trumps with lots of £300 season tickets in South level 3 and North level 3 when they are opened. Let the corporate buggers pay the big bucks!

I started travelling on my own but meeting friends in Manchester when I moved to London. However, since then I became recruited by the London Branch of the OSC and travel with them. Going on your lonesome isn't such a bad thing as us Blues are everywhere. Ditto when us London based Blues started having Pub meets. It completely reinvented my support and I met some great people.

Thanks fellas...Shit Happens...I have a business that has only just avoided bankruptcy in the last months so pennies are very tight and keeping it afloat is my number one priority......I have some wonderful memories from years gone by and some very recent ones too...the end to the last season left me feeling pretty flat tbh and it was a factor too in not renewing.
It won't really hit home till kick off time at the start of next season. I will try and make a game or two where possible.
