Sennheisers are excellent headphones. I use the cx300's. Can be usually picked up for about £15-£20 on amazon. About double the price from other places

Just make sure they are bought direct from a trusted place. Lots of fakes getting sold on eBay and other places
I use the cx300s and they are great
Got some skull candys for my phone and they were tons better, however the lead in to the earpiece wore away far too easily and I've replaced them with sennheisers after reading it was a common fault on skull candys

CX300II's also. They are excellent in my opinion. £40 from Richer Sounds a couple of years ago and they are clear as a bell.

I got a pair of these recently off ebay for £12.99 free del, brand new and a bargain, and surprisingly not snide. I nearly bought these, reduced from £25 to £15 and they've got a great rating http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/...&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=467128533&pf_rd_i=468294

£12.99 is a great price for the CX300IIs, and a cracking pair of headphones as well. The JVC ones sound interesting, but I never trust anything that has XX, or similar, on them, as it normally means that all they've done is turn up the bass - and that's cheating. Also, I couldn't buy anything with red leads - I'm far too old!

haha, thats what stopped me from buying them TBH, I did a bit more searching and a guy on ebay had 10 pairs of CX300II's, he had two pairs left when I bought mine, at first I thought they must be snide at that price but his feedback was 100%, they're bang on!! As for gthe JVC ones, if you read the reviews they have got a big base but people seem to think they're excellent.

Yet another vote for the CX300II's, cracking set of ear phones. Got mine off play.com for around £11 I think.

I'm glad this has been bumped.

I'm looking at getting a pair of fairly decent headphones/monitors. Not sure yet. Looking to spend around £150 ish, give or take a bit. Basically just for mixing/producing purposes.

I'm thinking, for mixing, headphones would be better as most other people will be listening using headphones, but for producing, monitors may be better, so i'm a little bit torn.

These have taken my fancy...

Any recommendations?

Reading through the previous posts there are a couple of comments that keep being repeated. The first is you can get them cheap on Amazon/eBay and the second is they keep breaking. Part of my job is for a firm involved in Brand Protection for headphone companies. eBay and Amazon are full of counterfeit sellers and these are British based. We go to Coventry twice a week to the UK Border Agency and seize thousands of fakes every time allof it coming in from China. eBay co-operate more than Amazon with us but both make it very easy for people to sell fake/rubbish counterfeit products. If you see headphones in the internet cheaper than the shops they will be counterfeit trust me. Monster and Sennheiser do not sell on eBay so the question is where are the sellers getting there stock from, answer a tin pot factory in China which is churning out fake rubbish.

I have THESE and haven't needed or wanted another pair since buying them a while back. Bought them to replace an aging pair of CX300's that had seen better days.

They've been replaced now by a newer model on amazon but if you can find them anywhere, i highly recommend them.

Dont own them myself but ive heard nothing but good stuff about them! They are definitely mixing quality headphones. Cant stand those beats, had a go of a pair in hmv once and they were far too bass heavy. I had a pair of sennheiser in ears but the cable wore away pretty quickly and my skullcandys lasted about a month. I just use my ipod headphones right now but i think ill invest in the hd-25's whenever i get a chance.
