The last place i worked at was terrible for health and safety, they wouldn't even supply little springs for our boots. The twats.

everytime i see that pic my stomach goes funny.

I used to be a steel erector in the early 80's, that picture was all too common even then, 'safety' harnesses were optional and available but in poor condition and very restrictive hindering 'production', but that wasn't the reason nobody wore them, you were seen as a c*nt if you did, would get the piss taken mercilessly and soon be out of a job.
Some of the injuries I saw were horrific, this country needed a huge kick up their arse to get rid of these macho/foolhardy practices, thank f*ck for 'Health and Safety' I say.

The problem is not really Health and Safety Law and legislation, but when the regulations are badly applied by people who really don't know what they are doing so take a very risk averse approach

This just about sums up the point i was trying to put across in the first place, but as usual on bluemoon, things we're taken out of context.Health and safety is fine, but i do find certain things to be ridiculous in our work place, when other more important safety matters i see every day are overlooked.

I saw a tv ad the other day for a personal injury firm.
Two blokes and a woman walking down some steps and the woman is looking into camera and talking about their 'service'. Suddenly she trips up and falls down the steps.
Instead of looking for people to sue, the daft woman should watch where she's going and wear sensible fuckin shoes.

In this day and age this was bonkers !!

Anyone who's worked in a warehouse has done something similar...getting to a stage where nothing will get done before endless risk assessments are carried out. What happened to good old common sense.

(Ducks down behind the parapet and awaits incoming flak )
