Sad thing is young folk dying due to thinking its safe to swim in rivers etc :(

It'd be fine with aircon and houses built for the heat. Our houses are all lacking the requisite cooling systems and they're made of bricks that trap heat in.

This is it in a nutshell, the heat is fine, if you can get a break from it indoors as you would on holiday. An air conditioned room when you’re away is lovely when you’ve been in 30 degree heat all day. In the UK our homes are designed to retain heat in the winter and that’s what fucks us during these summers.

An air conditioned room when you’re away is lovely when you’ve been in 30 degree heat all day. In the UK our homes are designed to retain heat in the winter and that’s what fucks us during these summers.

For 2 or 3 weeks a year. The other 40 odd we need insulated houses. We are cold as fuck most of the time

Pissed it down and proper windy the last hour or so on the coast...woke me up it was that noisy.

Just had a gander at the figures for '76... average temp over summer as supplied by Wiki was only 17.7 which seems low but I suppose that's 24 hours for 4 months.

Was in Death Valley last week. It was 100 degrees Fahrenheit (37.8 degrees C)

Zero humidity though.

Just had a mega thunder clap. I was lay in bed dozing with the window open and nearly followed through it gave me a jump that much.

Me too about 6.00, the wind and rain woke me at 4.30 but at 6.00 lightening and thunder directly over the house....I never jump normally.
