Heathrow shut

Who were they blaming? Has the CEO or transport minister been lambasted?
They weren't at this stage other than to say it was not believed to be terrorist linked, which may or may not prove to be the case. I'm not sure you can lambast people who have only been in post for a few months in one case and a couple of years for the other, for infrastructure that has been in place, and worked for decades. the question is how much resilience do you want for a once in a few decades event, remembering it all has to be paid for and maintained? There are no easy answers, but lessons have to be learned from this particular event.

That’s not how the media works, they may blame different people depending on their political bias but they blame.

I know family in the military have been in sub hunters around the UK & we’re even advised to hunt in the Thames.

We know a North Sea Tanker crash was staged by Russia & they’ve been dragging anchors across the floor to damage cables.

We know Russia are pissed off with the UK & will take revenge, how they’ll do it & to what extreme is not known.

It just seems a little “small time” for one of the most important airports in the world.

I remember a teeny weeny snow event years ago and I had to fly a “rescue mission” in the 747 to pick up people and their bags because everything was grounded…for days. There was about 2-3 inches of snow max…or what we call “a Tuesday in winter” out here.

No-one seems too put out over there, so I guess it’s no big deal to others, but it is all just a bit weird to me.
Probably the council’s fault

It’s the 3 pensioners on the Planning Committee who said more electrical generating power would further ruin their ability to enjoy a quiet walk on their favorite country path!

Wasn’t it featured on an episode of “Permission Impossible”?

Just wait til we have this nuclear power managed the same way.

From a National Security standpoint, the Li/Lab coalition deal with China to heavily invest in the UK's nuclear power program was an absolute disaster. In 2016, May's government raised concerns and eventually, the government started backtracking on the deal.

Sub-station fire, no evidence of foul play, that'll ruin a few peoples evening, hoping it was russia/terrorist/far right.

Just saying... ;-)

An Iranian Uranium enrichment plant's centrifuges overran to destruction, and for years nobody at the plant had a clue it was foul play due to a malicious cyber-attack.

Stuxnet was (for an IT person) a stunning achievement…

… however it exposed how susceptible micro electronics and controllers are to attack.
And it continues to this day, that almost any noncomputer electronic device is shockingly designed/coded from a security aspect.

Siemens PLC's IIRC?

And yet we continue to surround ourselves with 'the internet of things'. Our networks are only as strong as the weakest component, and those Temu Wi-Fi controlled lights are really convenient...
