Heaviest home defeat you've witnessed either at Maine Rd or the Etihad

It wasn't the heaviest but there was a game v Charlton around New Years where we got spanked 4-1 which felt like a nail in the coffin for us that season. Remember Robbie Keane rocking up a goal or two for every team he came with around that time too, the tw@

Would I be right in saying in this game, Nicky Weaver had the ball outside his box, tried a long ball and kicked it off the back of Richard Dunne rebounding it back into his goal?

Edit: found the goal @ 3 min 30 sec. It was a defender clearing it! -

Remember it well. Sitting in the North Stand with my Dad. Wave after wave of red shirts. One of the best Liverpool teams I've seen. There was a guy behind me who kept shouting "garbage", but Liverpool were on fire that day
We were always susceptible to hidings from the best teams of any era, whether Liverpool in the 80’s or the Arsenal team of the early 2000’s. The reason? because the Maine Road pitch was huge. Once teams of such calibre got a goal ahead and could dictate, we were liable to a hiding.

Yes, I was distraught that day. Thanks for finding the vid that ricochet was wicked.

Total madness. Steve Daley cost £1.4m.....we sold him for 400k.

This just sums it all up!

Arsenal for me. At the etihad. They walloped us but us being us, we clapped them off the field. They were nothing short of magnificent that day.
Is this the game where they brought on Thierry Henry as a substitute when we were already beaten. I remember a guy in front of me saying we've got them worried now!

Stop…

I must have a moan at all those posting the away score for City home games first. Massive bug bear of mine.

If we played at home, our score goes first. So, if the visitors scored five to our one at Hyde Road, Maine Road or the CoMS, the score was 1-5 to them, not 5-1 to them.

Carry on…
