6-0 against Derby at The Baseball Ground. The Police were taking the piss as we walked back to the station to get the special. Character forming
88/89 that mate.Remember Oldham beating us 4-1 about 93/94
Yup, the Hammers beat us 6-1 in both league games. I was at the home game with The Old Man and sundry uncles and the walk back up Lloyd Street after the game to Hulme was awful.West Ham beat us 1-6 at Maine Road in 1962 (they also beat us 6-1 at Upton Park the next season).
We also lost 1-6 at home to Blackpool in 1955, two weeks before we played in the FA Cup final.

Only game I've ever left early out of choice. 10 years old, piss wet through, the guy who made me a City fan scoring against us. Just turned to my mum and pulled on her sleeve. She got the message and we left on 70 mins.Whilst not the heaviest in scoreline, we got battered 3-0 at home to Leicester first year at the etihad. Dickov scored and slid on his knees against us. That game was horrible, we was battling with them to stay up and they rocked up and brushed us aside. Player called Stewart I think scored the first goal, rocket it was.
Dickov was a right shit that game, I am sure he went down for the pen they got as well where he proceeded to celebrate like mad. Horrible day, we got there early to see Dickov as they arrived, only to find out they arrive in that underground tunnel. It got worse for me, I can't remember why but the next day our school was at the etihad. Great post!Yup, the Hammers beat us 6-1 in both league games. I was at the home game with The Old Man and sundry uncles and the walk back up Lloyd Street after the game to Hulme was awful.
The game was also memorable for Bert Trautmann being sent off, with Alan Oakes having to go in goal. Bert lost his rag (which he was prone to do, being notoriously bad-tempered) when the fifth goal went in, aiming his kick of the ball upfield for kick-off at the referee!
We'd lost 8-1 at Wolves on the opening day of the season and continued to be bobbins for most of that season until we lost at Upton Park on the final day.
Ironically, our last day thrashing by The Hammers was updated every 15mins by the scoreboard at Maine Road telling those of us watching the reserves the latest from Upton Park. The reserves that day had Bert Trautmann in goal, shaking his head as the scoreboard brought the bad news..
On the positive side (!!), I still remember vividly my first ever sighting of Bobby Moore playing live that day at Maine Road. Even as a kid I knew I was watching something special, especially how he, a defender, controlled the game completely. He's still (to my eyes at least) the greatest defender ever to play the game!
