Hector Bellerin

As one of our feeder clubs you'll do as your told

Still running with this sentiment I see. I dont consider Adebayor, Clichy, Sagna, Toure big losses, especially when all have been replaced by higher quality. Nasri was quality, and the only reason you signed him was because he has only 12 months left to run, but Bellerin - he has 6 years to go on his contract. Its a different situation entirely. Arsenal are in too strong a position succumb to any City interest.

Barcelona have given up on Bellerin and have now turned to Cancelo of Valencia. Now apparently Pep is also an admirer, and trying to convince Cancelo to shun Barcelona will be very difficult. So if City still linger around Bellerin, Barcelona will get the jump on you and lets face it, these Portuguese players all dream of either Barcelona or Real Madrid.

Pep likes the play a brand of football akin to Barcelona, and they too are looking for a right back to push Sergi Roberto into midfield, so the type of right backs Pep will be interested in, are going to also be the players courting interest from Barcelona. Hence why Bellerin and Cancelo have had/have mutual Barcelona/ Man City interest. Bellerin is gone - Barcelona have accepted that, and they are moving on Cancelo pretty quickly. Now as I said, if City dither with some lingering hope of signing Bellerin, Barcelona will swoop in for Cancelo and thus Pep's top two right backs targets are taken away from him.

These dynamic wing backs dont grow on trees. Many of them are unattainable such as Bellerin, Alaba, Alba, Lahm, Roberto. These are the type of wing backs Pep wants. Rather than rank and file wing backs who are foremost defenders. So best swoop now while Cancelo is available at Valencia, because if he switches to Barcelona, he is gone gone gone. And as far as other attainable wing backs go, I dont now of any. You might have to gamble on an unknown, or give Maffeo a chance to develop. But as of now, Cancelo is the best right back who can fit the Pep/Barcelona brand of football. Time to give up on Bellerin, and battle Barcelona for Cancelo. Because Barcelona have given up on Bellerin.

It seems it is you who doesnt learn his lesson.

' can't buy class '
Pity gooners can't show class instead of hanging that banner above the away end

Sanchez and Ozil both with twelve months left on their deals in the summer so 20m for each should be enough.
