Don't give change, but if someone asks for change for a cuppa, I'll buy them a cuppa and anything else they may want. Bought a guy a set of thermals during a cold snap. No song and dance required.

Not sure I entirely agree that giving somebody with no job,home or money a beer or a few quid isn't 'helping' there's a food kitchen in the village isn't there?

If I was on the streets I would appreciate a can of Stella to help me get through another day, I know it's not the best way of dealing with a shitty situation but it feels a bit patronising to me to be dictating what's best.
