Iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiimanual Kant was a real pissant
Who was very rarely stable

Heidegger, Heidegger was a boozy beggar
Who could think you under the table

David Hume could out-consume
Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel

And Wittgenstein was a beery swine
Who was just as sloshed as Schlegel

There's nothing Nietzche couldn't teach ya
'Bout the raising of the wrist

Socrates, himself, was permanently pissed

John Stuart Mill, of his own free will
On half a pint of shandy was particularly ill

Plato, they say, could stick it away
Half a crate of whiskey every day

Aristotle, Aristotle was a bugger for the bottle

Hobbes was fond of his dram

And René Descartes was a drunken fart
"I drink, therefore I am"

Yes, Socrates, himself, is particularly missed....

A lovely little thinker
But a bugger when he's pissed

It does sound very painful. Too bad it is near enough impossible that you can't make an appointment with your GP

“no man ever steps in the same river twice,
for it's not the same river and he's not the same man.”

“time is a game played beautifully by children.”

“the only thing that is constant is change.”

“the soul is dyed the colour of its thoughts.
think only on those things that are in line with your principles and can bear the light of day.
the content of your character is your choice.
day by day, what you do is who you become.
your integrity is your destiny - it is the light that guides your way.”

“to be even-minded is the greatest virtue.
wisdom is to speak the truth and act in keeping with its nature.”

“how can you hide from what never goes away?”

“it is in changing that we find purpose.”

“abundance of knowledge does not teach men to be wise.”

“the unlike is joined together,
and from differences results the most beautiful harmony.”

“all things are in flux"

“thinking is a sacred disease and sight is deceptive.”

My favourite pre-Socratic thinker. Panta rhei.
