Just watched it myself excellent by vinny the guy doing the interview didn't know where to go next and gave a giggle which said well thats fucked my next question up will utd be challenging for the league! No doubt the press will put a negative spin on it arrogant city expect to dominate!
You are right he had nowhere to go and Vinny was looking at him as if to say go on ask me another stupid question you prat, brilliant
We are so lucky having such an eloquent captain as Vinny, absolute class answer to a stupid question, I wouldn't let Shrek captain a pub team, horrible little man.

That would have been a good answer as well.

Re: Well Said Vinny

Will be spun as Vinny under pressure and Sky will be furious with us ;).

Anybody got a link?

Sky Sports are in London this morning at an event to welcome the start of the Premier League, they are interviewing various faces from the football world and VK and Pellers are there
Vinnie was giving a live training session when the Sky Sports interviewer pulled him and started asking him about City and the title defence, VK was great as usual, this being Sky Sports they had to bring it around to the rags and they asked him about Rooney being made captain, Vinny gave a ten second answer but when the interviewer carried on he ''look I couldn't care less, im only interested in my own club'', well done Vinny
Wish Pellers would have said the same earlier when they interviewed him and they kept banging on about Van Gaal but Pellers is a charming man!

Did he actually say the words underlined or did he just give the Vinnie look that says; 'you are a bit of a stupid interviewer'?

He actually said something like ' don't know how to say this politely but I couldn't care less'. - quality

Thank you, brilliant, that's our beloved Captain. A real Captain not like that one from Trafford who can't string three words together!! :-)

Yep I missed out the politely bit, it was quality, they keep playing it now on SSN and the guy in the studio said Rooney being made captain was big news to SSN but I don't think it was to Vincent Kompany, the penny might have dropped

Good article that Sky might like to ponder, though little new to City fans and even less to Vinnie.

A good read that.

'Attaching a trophy signing to this part of the squad would smack of the gluttony and player stock-piling City and other new-moneyed teams are often accused of. Their policy this summer demonstrates a club growing into their owners’ sizeable ambitions that they can be a comfortable, assured and established member of Europe’s elite.'

The penny really is starting to drop. Well at least in some places...
Let's hope so.

Annoying to read your team's achievements being denigrated or ignored.

The general reaction when City were taken over was that it will all end in tears. It would be impossible to bring star players to Manchester City and then when they arrived that changed to you can't win with Mercenaries. Sooner or later the facts have to be taken onboard, but City's profile and coverage in the media is still way below that of comparable clubs, and the media still regard City's success as bought whereas Utd and Liverpool are somehow organic football clubs

Still although I find it annoying when our club gets overlooked, it makes success a little sweeter

Re: Well Said Vinny

They are still at it, everyone they get up for interview it's 10 seconds on their own club then it's swung around to the rags, ''what about Van Gaals tactics and formation, what about Rooney as captain''
Gus Poyet looked a bit put out and bemused, John O'Shea bit as he would but then threw them by saying City or Chelsea would win the league
This open day really is an insight into how SSN works and their rag obsession

Re: Well Said Vinny

HAlf this forum should read and digest what Vinny said.

Fucking rags this, rags that, rags the other, polluting every thread.

The days of comparing ourselves with them every two minutes are gone, but a lot of our fans don't seem to realise. They are competing for fourth place, we are competing for the Champions League. They are flies round our backside.

The irony of starting a thread about Vincent Kompany's refusal to speak about United. ergo starting another thread about the people you don't want anyone to talk about.
