Heroes - Bowie tribute @ Everton game

I too am at a loss.

What is it with society these days and the need for public grieving at every opportunity?

His passing was a sad day for his family and friends and no doubt his fans as well but its got fuck all to do with us playing a game of football tonight, nothing.
I think this too. Society loves to be seen to be mourning something, but why? What's the obsession with that sort of thing?
*Look at me, no, look AT ME, Look what i'm doing...i'm showing some half arsed attempt to show grief that someone has died...look at me doing it!* (never thinks about it again!)

I can't wait for our tribute once one of the One Direction lads croak it. They've played the Etihad AND watched our games!

as the team comes out for the second half joe hart whips his shorts down at the SS and we play "boys keep swinging"

This is a joke thread right.....please say it is, please!!

Sounds like a fucking "Scouse-fest of Grief". Not all Blues were Bowie fans and he has no connection with us, other than a gig at Maine Road 30 years ago.

If you can't see his overriding, talent, inspiration and importance despite personal taste then I feel sorry for you.
Whether or not there should be or will be a tribute paid by the club is one thing but surley it merits a discussion without the glib dismissal.

As much as I love Bowie, I presume this thread is a pisstake?

Anyway, I'd go for the full 10 minute album version of Station to Station just before kick off.
I thought it would be a good idea to play the odd Bowie tune tonight. Now it's been turned into an inquest into public grieving. Strange reaction.

Where did I say he was not a talented individual?

Lemmy had plenty of fans and I'm sure they thought him a talented individual.....but no cries of "play Motorhead at the next home match blah blah". Don't feel sorry for me, I just don't get the connection that some, including your good-self, obviously feel. Bowie was undoubtedly a much loved artist, enjoy his music, but why do City have to pay tribute?
