My dad being Dutch we watched a lot of Marco van basten. As a kid I was in total awe of the guy as a footballer I thought, and still do believe he was on another level in his era. Wonderful wonderful striker. Retired far too early.

Best pure striker I ever saw in the flesh. He tore Ireland a new one in Dublin back in 1983. Him and Gullitt. A joy to watch even if the result was painful. A fantastic player.
